Arguably Poland's foremost power in the metal world, Behemoth have been winning the hearts of fans and testing the tolerance of authorities since the early 1990s, with their individual strand of 'blackened death metal'. 'Blackened Death Metal', for those who may be intrigued, is the sort which, in fairly brutal musical fashion, indulges in family topics such as satanism, occultism and the rest, and has consequently landed Behemoth and fellow contemporaries in hot water with various religious officials in the past.
In their 2-decade career Behemoth have unleashed a hatful of fierce records, with the commercial highlight being 1999's Satanica. In 2009 they returned with their ninth LP, Evangelion, which was tracked in Poland's Radio Gdansk studio and brought to Musikbox in May 2009 where it was mixed by the legendary metal/hardcore producer Colin Richardson.
