Grandad Bob

"Grandadbob are the White Stripes of electronic music" so says Mr Fatboy Slim. One part producer David Johnson and the other vocalist (and ex-circus entertainer) Vanessa Robinson, Sheffield's latest exports have been dishing out their unique flavour of beated-up blissed-out synth pop since circa 1999. They're signed to Southern Fried Records and are in the midst of their second album.

They describe their current sound as having: 'English folky influences, medieval harmonies, dancy beats, cello, recorder, bleeps, as well as bits of electronica' and were curiously keen that we should enhance the studio with an abundance of Astroturf and murals...

Grandadbob were in The Garden in the autumn of 2005 mixing their second album (due out spring/summer 2006). Liam Howe was producing, with Simon 'Barny' Barnicott on engineering duty and Miloco's Mike Grimley assisting.
