Formed by Nic Armstrong when his girlfriend sent a cassette to a magazine, was signed and had to make a band. The quartet have since been tearing it up on American and U.K. Stages. Their first album was released under Nic Armstrong and the Thieves and by the time they reached SXSW they were The IV Thieves. In 2006 they finished their second album 'If We Can't Escape My Pretty' and set about touring the States with the Pretenders. The album is due to reach the UK in 2007.
The Thieves were mixing 'If We Can't Escape My Pretty' with producer/ engineer Chris Sheldon in our SSL room in April and May 2006. Released in the states on New West Records a UK release is coming soon on One Little Indian.

Re-locating to Texas from England has resulted in IV Thieves' new LP displaying an impressive blend of gritty garage rock and quintessential British themes, reminiscent of landmark English bands along the lines of Led Zeppelin, Oasis and The Beatles. IV Thieves were in The Yard mixing the album throughout 2006 with producer Chris Sheldon. |
