The Horrors were the darlings of the alternative music press almost from the day they formed back in 2005, thanks to a standout, ghoul-like image and a much-hyped "spooky" rock sound referred to as 'horror punk'. 'Strange House' was one of the most hotly anticipated debuts of 2007, and was produced by Ben Hillier in The Pool in December '06.
With the media spotlight rarely ceasing to simmer down since the release of the album, they finally released their second LP 'Primary Colours' in 2009 to wide acclaim.

The Horrors - 'Strange House'
www.thehorrors.co.uk It's been well worth the wait for the release of the debut album from London's garage punk extraordinaires. Their hugely exposed appearance has built up a hype no-one could ignore, and now the image has proven to compliment their similarly individual sound of gothic punk rock. Ghostly they may appear, but you shouldn't really be afraid of them, that is unless you are planning on selling the most albums in the UK this year! The Horrors were in The Pool with producer Ben Hillier and engineer Ferg Peterkin throughout November and December 2006. ![]() |
