UREI 1176 Leveling Amplifier review by Matt Wiggins
This well-renowned UREI amplifier is a common feature across many of Miloco's studios, so it
only takes one wandering gadget-lover of a tape-op to stumble upon it and realise that it's
about time something fantastic was said about it! Matt Wiggins has kindly shouldered the
responsibility to do just that!

AEA R88 Microphone review by Oli Wright
The AEA R88 mic is just one of many fantastic bits and pieces kicking about
Miloco Eight: The Pool. Not necessarily a bit, or a piece, but still definitely also spotted kicking about
Miloco's extreme live tracking room very often is studio assistant Oli Wright. The R88 has caught
the eye of Mr Wright so much in the many sessions he has worked in The Pool over the last
year, that he has ever-so-kindly offered to share his admiration for this unique microphone
with the Milc-reading public.

ARP 2600 Synth review by Dean Curtis
We have enough equipment and staff kicking about our studios to make an entire
encyclopedia of these reviews, so its about time we expanded on the rather
humble number which we've had up so far. Our very own Dean Curtis has begun
the equipment spotlight revolution with his views and knowledge on the
ARP 2600 synthesiser, of which there is one at Miloco's Kentish Town Neve Room, Musikbox.
Read on for some hot ARP action.
Altec 436C Compressor review by Joe Hirst
Over at MILC HQ, we love our reviews, but we also love our studio equipment in all shapes and sizes, ranging from our
Neve VR60s right through to our toilet brushes. So it seemed obvious to combine both passions and do this feature.
However, as much as sharing our detailed comprehension of lavatory cleansing utensils does puzzlingly appeal,
we thought we'd instead opt for providing a little insight into something a bit more glamorous, and hence present a
review on the Altec 436c Compressor, situated at our Hoxton Square studio. This month's guest reviewer is Miloco's
very own Joe Hirst, whose grasp of both cutting-edge and vintage studio gear, is something to
behold!! Joe Hirst reviews the Altec 436c.
Lomo 19A19 Valve Microphone review by Martin Jenkins
Now anyone who doesn't know what a LOMO 19A19 is obviously hasn't been reading our newsletters carefully
enough!! As stated in last month's newsletter, we recently added this superb microphone to the equipment collection
at The Square on the recommendation of producer Ben Hillier. One man who certainly does know what a LOMO 19A19 is
(we hope, otherwise we picked the wrong guy to write this review!) is Martin Jenkins. Well we'd pestered him enough
with his staff profile, why would we stop there? Martin Jenkins reviews the LOMO 19A19.
