The Bellarosa Connection

# The Bellarosa Connection were, in the opinion of this humble e-magazine, the best thing by far at the recent Great Escape in Brighton.

Following on from their tip-top highjinks by the sea they headed into Miloco to record some debut tracks with our own Finn Eiles producing. Some of the resulting material is currently loitering on their Myspace space in an attempt to lure some kindly record company into making them world famous.

They were rather busy during their time in the studio so MILC couldn't catch up with them in person. We therefore resorted to a questionnaire and a polite request. Here's the end result...

MILC: What material are you recording here at Miloco?

The Bellarosa Connection: Not sure yet, maybe demos, possibly an EP.

MILC: When is it due to be released?

TBC: When the right label appears.

MILC: How would you describe the music you're making at this moment in time?

New wave beboping punk.

MILC: What do you like about Miloco and what do they seem to offer differently from other studios?

TBC: I'm not experienced enough to understand what all the knobs do, but they have a good kitchen.

MILC: How long are you spending here at Miloco?

TBC: 5 days

MILC: Please describe Miloco in 12 words...

TBC: The creative environment needed to record our super catchy nuggets of gold

MILC: Your website & Myspace addresses...

www.thebellarosaconnection.com
www.myspace.com/thebellarosaconnection

MILC: Any forthcoming gigs/events to tell us about?

They are all on our Myspace don't you know.

(MILC duly shuffles off and reports back as follows:

15 July: Spread Eagle, Shoreditch
29 July: On The Rocks, Hoxton
5 Aug: Brightlingsea Music Festival
17 Aug: 333/UFO, London
1 Sept: Pop Goes The Weasel Club, Cheltenham
2 Sept: The Acid Gallery All Dayer, London
20 Sept: Enterprise, Camden

...But I imagine they'll be more added so keep your eyes peeled prospective fans.)

Also...

MILC: If your engineer were an animal, what would he be?

# TBC: A bat.

Favourite album section:

MILC: What were your favourite albums when you were:
a) 5-12 yrs old? Sign 'O' The Times
b) 13-16? Metal Box
c) 17-25? A Love Supreme

MILC: If you could have been involved in the writing or recording of any one album, which one would it have been?

# TBC: Thriller

MILC: What is your favourite album cover and why?

TBC: Unknown Pleasures

MILC: Which other band or solo-artist has influenced you most over the last 12 months?

TBC: Bob Dylan

Other questions:

MILC: What's the last book you read/what are reading now?

TBC: Reality Sandwiches - Ginsberg

MILC: What's the last thing you ate?

TBC: Toast.

MILC: Who are you least likely to be sending a Christmas card to this year?

TBC: My dole officer.

MILC: Why did the chicken cross the road?

TBC: Because Mcfly were trying to sing him a Thin Lizzy song

All-comers title fight:

MILC: Who would win a fight between...Cliff Richard and Noel Edmonds? And why?

TBC: Noel's got more of an axe to grind. [Note: Edmonds progresses to next round despite managing to sneak himself into two of these rounds. This is illegal but the judges appreciate his appetite & desire and so have allowed this infringement to go unpunished].

Final music section:

MILC: Which is the best gig you've ever been to?

TBC: Glasto.

MILC: What's the worst behaviour ever witnessed at a gig (your own, someone else's, on/off/back stage)?

TBC: The ritual killing of a support band.

MILC: How did the Great Escape go - your gig, other bands you saw and liked/hated.

TBC: It went very well thank you. Most of what I saw was bullshit.

The end bit:

MILC: Thank you very much for submitting yourself to the Miloco Magazine inquisition; your time, effort and patience is much appreciated. Before signing off, is there anything else you'd like us to know?

# TBC: We are the greatest band since the dawn of time and...blah blah blah
