Artist Profile

Charles Campbell Jones

# With a raft of songs that loiter somewhere off the coast of Pavement, give the glad-eye to Tim Buckley and perhaps, even, flirt with a little Captain Eno and David Byrne, Charles is busy mining a delightfully delicious subterranean haven of melodic 'n' quirky heart wrench.

His songs are awash with piano tinkles, cello caresses and more atmosphere than you shake a Shakespearean dry-ice strewn gothic film-noir stick at. More than ably aided and abetted by the deluxe skills of Gemma Ray Ritual, Charles is planning gigs later this year and has pencilled in world domination shortly after.

CCJ has been in The Garden & The Square with Miloco's Ben Thackeray ( "I was really impressed with his work ethic and mixing skills") and Ed Kane, and found them to be "clean, well-groomed and of sound disposition". A finer recommendation by a finer man? I'd like to hear it.

MILC [heart]'s Charles, and doesn't care who knows it. And as for the track Winter Palace - if there's a finer sliver of tango-wrought epic blues bliss, MILC would, frankly, need to father more of its children than have already been promised to this antipodean dreamboat.

At the moment Charles remains unsigned but, if this planet wishes to raise its blushing chops above the intergalactic parapet, that situation should be resolved in the blink of a butterfly's lashes.
