The self-dubbed "modern incarnation of a power-trio", Die So Fluid have this year been tracking, in Assault & Battery 2 and the Square,
what will materialise into their third album, the follow-up to 2008's '
Not Everbody Gets A Happy Ending. They were back in the studio
with long-term collaborator, producer Mark Williams. Here's what they had to say when they received the customary Miloco artist
Q&A...
Miloco: It's great to have you here at Miloco. What project are you doing here and when's it due to be released?
DSF: We're recording our third album and it's scheduled to be released here in June, with staggered releases across Europe and
the U.S. in Autumn 2009.
Miloco: Which Miloco studio are you using and why did you choose it?
DSF: We began in Assault & Battery because both our producer Mark Williams and the band are familiar with the studio already
and wanted the opportunity to capture the great drum sounds we know we can get there. Now we're in The Square in Hoxton with its refreshing
new vibe.
Miloco: How would you describe the material you are working on
DSF: Inspirational rock.
Miloco: Who was your studio assistant, and how was your studio assistant?
DSF: Matt Wiggins, or Sir Wiggins - he's always ready with an execptional cuppa and one step ahead with preparation
at all times! A lovely chilled fellow.
Miloco: How did you come about working with Mark Williams on this project?
DSF: Die So Fluid made the first 2 albums with Mark and we've grown together throughout the whole experience
so it was the natural decision.
Miloco: What does he bring to the project that other producers / engineers wouldn't?
DSF: He already understands how we work as people and musically. He's a tone-quester with magic ears.
A few silly questions...
Miloco: The song you wished you'd written:
DSF: 'Big Bottom' by Spinal Tap
Miloco: The Song You're Glad you didn't write:
DSF: 'Lady In Red'
What was your strangest experience of 2008?
DSF: Getting electrocuted in Wales onstage in the first song and having to pull the gig
You are placed in front of a time machine. Which year in history would you travel to and why?
DSF: We'd rather travel into the future, it would be more interesting to find stuff out than to revisit
what's gone before
Miloco: Draw us a picture:
Miloco: Any additional info you'd like to let us know about?
DSF: There's a blog of our session online at www.myspace.com/diesofluid or www.diesofluid.co.uk.
PLUS lots of other info and videos.
Miloco: Do you have any upcoming live dates/other events? Please list them!
DSF: March 19-29 Germany (with Eisbrecher)
April 16-18 Finland
May 2-7 Japan
