In what's amounting to a Hoxton Square special, this issue's second New Band Profile sidles up to four-piece unsigned Brummy young guns, Deluka...and likes what it sees. Here's what they had to say for themselves:

Where are you from?

Moseley/Birmingham.

Quick band history:

Formed about 12 months ago.

What label are you signed to (and how did it come about)?

We're doing a self-release.

What project are you doing here at Miloco, and when's it due to be released?

We are mixing a 'double a-side' single or 3-track EP - we haven't quite decided which yet.

How would you describe the material you're working on?

We're mixing three of our strongest songs to be releases as an E.P. All three tracks are highly upbeat and danceable songs that mix elements of rock, indie and electronic music.

Who's producing (and why did you choose them)?

Gavin Monaghan - Gavin understands our music and understood perfectly how we wanted the finished recordings to sound. He also has a great reputation, having worked with Editors, Bloc Party and Jesus and Mary Chain.

How did you find Miloco's Hoxton Square studio?

The Square was hand-picked by Gavin for its quality and quantity of outboard, compressors, EQs and effect units. Plus the masses of Protools outputs to the desk.

Your Miloco assistant is Loz Alridge - how have you found working with him?

Loz is a young, ambitious studio assistant. His attention never faltered, his knowledge of the studio was superb and he was quick to solve any problems we may have encountered such as hums or faulty patch leads. With his mild/polite manner, boyish good looks, vast knowledge of the job and mean tea-making skills he is sure to succeed in the business. (Note from Loz: "This was written by the band, honest").
