Alabama 3 to headline anti-racism benefit
16th Dec 07
The Brixton-based and Sopranos-endorsed rock outfit Alabama 3 are set to headline
the 'Hope Not Hate' gig at the Brixton Academy on Wednesday 30th April. The
event marks the 30th anniversary of the Rock Against Racism carnival in East London's
Victoria Park - an ongoing campaign to battle racism through music. Currently
also branded under the name 'Love Music Hate Racism', the campaign has already
crossed paths with Miloco this year, in the summer of 2007 when a selection of stars,
amongst them Drew McConnell, Seb Rochford and Albert Hammond Jnr., were working in
The Pool and Square studios on a track for an NME cover-mount promoting the campaign's cause.
Alabama 3 were strongly acquainted with Miloco on 2001 and 2002, working with
producers such as Steve Dub, Segs, Simon 'Barny' Barnicott and Lexy.
