Florence and the Machine Bag Brit Awards Critic's Choice 2009
12th Dec 08
Florence and the Machine have been named winners of the Critic's Choice prize at the 2009 Brit Awards, following in the footsteps
of Adele, the 2008 prize winner. The announcement confirms that a Miloco client has now earned the coveted accolade two years in a row.
Lead-singer Florence Welch has stated: "Blimey, a BRIT Award. Thank you so much to the critics... I'm making my album at the moment (in Miloco's Pool studio with Paul Epworth),
it's sort of sounding like a choir, a harp, some metal chains and a piano all put through a car crusher, then hit with wooden planks really hard. I will see you at the awards. I'll be the
one trying to get off with Katy Perry and passed out next to Leona Lewis."
Florence and the Machine line-up in a list of Miloco clients predicted by BBC 6 Music as the hottest tips for next year. Alongside them stand
VV Brown,
White Lies,
The Big
Pink and
Little Boots, who have all worked in the studios this year.
Florence and co. will also be appearing at the Shockwaves NME Awards Tour next year, with fellow Milocees Glasvegas, Friendly Fires and White Lies.
