Franz for the West End..?

7th Dec 07

# Phantom Of The Ferdinand? Jesus Kapranos Superstar? Les Mis-Glaswegians? Disney's The Haggis King? You might think this is just plain silliness, but it does have a point. After their fling with the soundtrack to Hallam Foe, Franz Ferdinand seem to have developed a taste for writing music for film and theatre. Inspired by fellow Scots Belle and Sebastian's efforts in writing for the screen, Franz frontman Alex Kapranos has stated he would be interested in possibly composing for the stage. Clearly with his sights set firmly on Andrew Lloyd-Webber's throne and Freddie Mercury's statue outside The Dominion, Alex is up for leading his band of Glaswegian indie Kings on a crusade to conquer the West End.

They've been busy boys of late, having also been in Miloco's Pool studio recording some tracks. Stay tuned for more news on the many future plans of the magnificent Franz Fredinand.
