Jarvis Cocker to lecture at Brighton Festival
10th Apr 08

The Brighton Festival has commissioned Jarvis Cocker to lecture on the subject of
lyric-writing at this year's Spring/Summer city carnival.
The former Pulp frontman will divulge into issues concerning "the function of the lyric
in popular song" at the Brighton Dome Concert Hall on May 23. It is thought Jarvis, who
mixed his debut solo album
Jarvis in 2006 in Miloco One - The Engine Room, will
set out to analyse the lyrics of Leonard Cohen, Amy Winehouse, Pete Doherty and of course himself.
Jarvis Cocker returned to Miloco in October 2007, when he was tracking with producer, and former-Pulp
bandmate, Steve Mackey.
