It was quite a commute for our day-tripping busker boys Kid British on Tuesday 20 January. The hotly-tipped Manchester band were promoting their 'Leave London' E.P., by
playing a number of impromptu gigs at various tube stations which are namechecked in the E.P.'s lead track 'Lost In London', when, whilst on the train at Westminster, they ran into
a certain Boris Johnson.
Singer Simeon Mclean first thought the Mayor was unsure of their intentions: "At first he was trying to ignore it, because he thought we were trying to protest," Mclean told NME.COM.
"But then we saw him just watching and enjoying the show!"
Later on, when at London Bridge station, the band were unfortunately moved on by police, as shown in the above YouTube video clip.
Kid British's 'Leave London' E.P., produced by Steve Dub and Segs in Miloco's Toyshop studio, is out now.
