Miloco's Brit Nominees 2009
Coldplay lead the way for our award-gunning clients!
21st Jan 09
So the Brit Award nominations are out, which is always a good time of year to big up our most prolific clients of the last twelve months,
assuming, which we can, we have some up for awards.
We knew when Coldplay came to Miloco last summer to put some finishing touches on
Viva La Vida..., that we'd be writing about the inevitable
Brit Award recognition they would have come January. And here we are. The band are up for four awards:
British Live Act,
British Group,
British Single for 'Viva La Vida', and of course the
MasterCard British Album, which they have bagged for each of their three previous
albums.
Adele was also on an inevitable road to success for these awards too. Her 'Chasing Pavements' single is also up for
British Single - one of three
nominations also comprising
British Female Solo Artist and
British Breakthrough Act. Joining Adele in the running for
British Female Solo Artist
is MIA. Rounding up our girl force are Santogold, who is nominated for
International Female Solo Artist, and Florence and The Machine who has already
been chosen for the
Critics Choice Award.
Finally, it wouldn't be right if we didn't have at least one lad pining for glory at the Brits. This year Will Young, who made parts of his recent album
Let It Go
with producer Mike Spencer at Miloco, has been nominated yet again for the
British Male Solo Artist award.
The Brits take place at London's Earls Court Arena on Wednesday 18 February 2009. We wish all the nominees the best of luck on the night.
