Bloc Party film 'Live and Intimate' in The Pool

# This Channel 4 documentary, broadcast the same week of the release of Bloc Party's third album, Intimacy, saw the band return to the studio where they tracked half of the record in the summer of 2008, with producer Paul Epworth.

Take a look at these wonderfully-shot clips of the band performing tracks from the album. There are six in total: 'Ion Square', 'Talons', 'Better Than Heaven', 'One Month Off', 'Halo' and 'Signs'. They're simply great. Strap in and Bloc on!

Travis film 'Something Anything' in The Pool

# Travis came to The Pool in July 2008 to record the video for the lead single from their 6th album, Ode To J. Smith, released September 2008 on the band's own Red Telephone Box label.

'Something Anything's screen accompaniment takes the unusual form of not having lead-singer/frontman Fran Healy being chased to his inevitable demise by his fellow bandmates, dressed as a giant egg or otherwise, but it's still pretty cool all the same, especially when Andy Dunlop lets rip into a 'towering' axe solo.

Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds film 'Midnight Man' in The Pool

# It was a special day in March 2008 when Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds rolled into SE1 to film an internet documentary following the release of their brilliant Dig!!! Lazarus Dig!!! album. They came with an army of cameramen, directors, producers, label guys, the lot.

We also, for the very first time, exploited the Pool's ability to bolt-on to the Engine Room to use our flagship studio's awesome control room in combination with The Pool's extreme live space. Suffice to say that Miloco's Leroy Street HQ was rockin' that day!

The Futureheads film 'Walking Backwards' in The Garden

# Sunderland's finest The Futureheads came to our Shoreditch tracking room in July 2007 to record the video for 'Walking Backwards', which is released from the band's self-released This Is Not The World album.

Ross Millard and co substitute themselves for some endearing puppet imposters, to take on the everyday duties of Tyneside's most celebrated indie band. The video also features a cameo appearance from T4 presenter Rick Edwards, so what more do you want?.

XX Teens film 'Only You' in The Garden

# London 5-piece XX Teens released their debut album Welcome To Goon Island in June 2008. Although the album wasn't made at Miloco, we were still over-the-moon to see them in our legendary Shoreditch tracking room a month after the release to record 5 tracks for a radio session.

Accompanying them was a) Miloco in-house man James Aparicio, and b) a conveniently present video camera, which captured these shots of the band playing album track 'Only You'.

Sparkadia's recording of 'Postcards' in The Pool

# We were blessed with the company of Sydney-based indie band Sparkadia in the Spring of 2007, when they came to The Pool to track their debut album Postcards with producer Ben Hillier and Interface engineer Ferg Peterkin. They flew over from Oz with guitars, glockenspiels, and of course a video camera!!

Have a flick through this fantastic video diary of the 'Postcards sessions' in 2007, and sample the melodic delights, as provided by several album snippets, of Sparkadia.

Beat Six record 'When The Chemicals Ignite (With Fuel)' in The Garden

# The Hard-Fi-esque Slough band Beat Six used footage of their Garden session, interspersed with live shots to film their very cool video for 'When The Chemicals Ignite (With Fuel)', produced by Tristan Ivemy in The Garden. A proper rock n' roll video, at a proper rock n' roll studio!!

These New Puritans session in The Square

# These New Puritans made good creative use of both The Toyshop and The Square throughout 2007, wheh making their fantastic debut Beat Pyramid, which was released in January 2008 on Domino. Here's a clip of them laying down some tracks for 'Swords Of Truth' in our Hoxton Square studio's retro live room.

The Grams session in The Garden

# If you've not yet had the chance to take a look around The Garden, fear not, as Brighton indie band The Grams have kindly put together this video tour of the legendary Shoreditch tracking room.

Here is a portfolio of video clips the band put together to document their week down there in March 2007. Take a look to sample a selection of great Grams songs, and to get another fantastic feel for our brillant band tracking room.

Battle recording drums in The Garden

# Battle clearly enjoyed The Garden's phenemonal drum sound when they spent some time in the studio in February 2007 with producer/engineer Jeff Knowler, so much so, that they felt compulsed to make this short video of percussive recording!!

Here is a brief but fulfilling clip of an early take of Battle track 'Easy To Listen To'.

Gareth Jones fixing his computer in The Toyshop

# The legendary Depeche Mode, Erasure and Einsturzende Neubauten producer/engineer Gareth Jones was having a frustrating time with his G5 one day in The Toyshop, when in their with These New Puritans in the Spring of 2007.

Perhaps even more frustrating for our good friend Gareth, was that a cheeky Puritan seemed intent on immortalising this disruption on tape! Still he didn't mind talking the cameraman through his technical difficulties.

The great Gareth Jones!
