Pete Hofmann
Mix Engineer / Producer

Pete has been engineering and producing for over fifteen years and has a wide range of recording skills. Although comfortable with traditional techniques he has been using protools since 1992 and its this marriage that defines Pete's sound.

During the 90s Pete produced some of the defining albums of the Britpop era with the likes of Black Box Recorder, Grand Drive ,The Auteurs and Luke Haines as well as mixing for Gene , Shed 7 , Elastica and Libido.

Since then its his interest in electronic music production and pop that has seen him working as a finite mix engineer particularly using his skills developing vocalists and bringing together challenging projects.

Pete is currently working on forthcoming material from Chung King, Annie and Tigerpicks.
Matt Hyde

Matt's attention to detail is second to none. Add to this, his strong technological background and in-depth knowledge of both band backline, and studio equipment, you see why he's one of the most capable producer engineers in town, and the fastest protools user we know!

Matt has been working in studios for almost ten years and has built his reputation working with established and up and coming indie acts, as well as cutting edge heavy rock and metal bands. He's become a favourite engineer with legendary producer Colin Richardson and has helped record and mix albums for the likes of Slipknot and Chimaira. Matt has been able to make full use of his musical background, producing projects for French act Mass Hysteria, Fightstar, Ash and South African sensation Crash Car Burn, amongst others.

Finn Eiles

Finn has been engineering for the past seven years. He rose swiftly through the ranks from assistant to engineer and his skills are increasingly in demand. Finn has excellent across-the-board knowledge - from the workings of the old analogue equipment to the latest Protools HD system.

His attention to detail and methodical approach means he will stop at nothing to get the best results, using every ounce and watt of the equipment at his disposal. This dedication is wonderfully complemented by his laid back and calm approach that guarantees a relaxing and rewarding recording experience for all. This has helped him work for for producers such as Jim Abbiss, Kevin Shields and Simon Raymonde, as well as for numerous up and coming bands. His knowledge of the music scene helps him to make records that are effortlessly current and cutting edge.

Finn has recently been engineering tracks for the forthcoming Jack Penate album with Jim Abbiss and doing various mixes for the likes of The Dears, Razorlight, and Acoustic Ladyland.

Joe Hirst

Joe is not only an expert on Protools and Logic but has a passion for music and technology and an ongoing infatuation with vintage microphones and equipment. This combined with his great all round knowledge of music guarantees him as an asset to any session.

He has already engineered on a Beth Gibbons soundtrack, and more recently for Bloc Party and JME. He has also just finished mixing the forthcoming debut album from Ali Love with Steve Dub.
Mark Rankin

Mark began his recording career as house engineer at The Exchange studios in 2003. Primarily a mastering facility, Mark created a high end vintage recording studio based upon the same principles of the mastering studio - point to point signal paths, direct connections and hifi results all in one room with no seperate control room.

By learning his craft in such an unforgiving environment, Mark has become an accomplished engineer in a relatively short space of time as his client list is testament to. He is not only well versed in traditional methods of recording and the use of vintage analogue equipment, but is equally at home with modern techniques including Pro Tools and Logic.

Mark's recent projects include working alongside Paul Epworth recording the debut album from Kate Nash, producing, recording and mixing the debut album from The Rank Deluxe, mixing an album for Kieran Hebden cohort Steve Reid and co-producing a single for Underground Heroes.
Iain Gore

Iain is a young, up and coming producer who started out in 1998 at Spiral Media Productions which, during his time there taught him the fundamental basics of building and wiring studios plus gaining valuable technical and creative insight into recording a variety of acts - from local rock bands to Gregorian Choirs!

Upon moving to London in 2000, he qualified with an SAE diploma in Audio Engineering and went on to work for Metropolis in 2001, initially as a runner and on to be an in-house engineer. Here he mastered his knowledge for Pro-Tools and developed his technical and creative skills including kowledge of SSL E, G, J & K series and Neve VR Consoles. Iain is confident in working both the analogue and digital domain and his experience with working alongside producers, Mixers and Engineers such as Brian Eno, Chris Potter, Mick Jones, Bill Price, and Tom Elmhirst. This has allowed him to adopt and develop phiolosphies and standards which help to create an efficient, creative and smooth running sessions.
Ben Thackeray

Relaxed, friendly, talented and unflappable, Ben is the perfect man to have at your side in the studio. Combining a fantastic knowledge of studio operations with the kind of chilled out demeanor that's essential to ensure smooth and enjoyable sessions, he's been busy of late with the likes of Malakai, Engineers, Charles Campbell-Jones, The Fields and The Spinto Band.

Starting his career at Mark Angelos Studios, he then moved to Mayfair Studios where he earned his spurs as a highly reliable, hard-working and knowledgeable assistant. In 2003 he left Mayfair studios to join Miloco studios as an assistant where he swiftly graduated to engineer.

Imbued with a frankly legendary calming influence and a first class knowledge of Protools, he's allied these skills with the know-how built up over years working alongside some of the industry's top producers, not least Steve Dub.
Matt Foster

Driven from an early age by his love of music, Matt decided the only option for him was to pursue a career in the recording industry. Starting out as a trainee tape op for EMI Music studios, he went on to work as a freelance assistant engineer for many of London's top studios.

Armed with the knowledge he gained from rubbing shoulders with many top-flight engineers and producers, Matt soon graduated to recording and mixing top ten chart hits of his own (e.g. The Corrs and Tin Tin Out). In 2000 he joined up with Morgan Khan and his new label MWA, and began cutting house, hip-hop, R'n'B and both U.S. & U.K. garage records.

He then took the next logical step in his career and teamed up with Miloco studios. Since then he has expanded his skills and is writing music designed for TV/Film, collaborating with a number of artists and occupying many of Miloco's fine recording studios as well as other renowned recording emporiums.
Ferg Peterkin

Ferg has been working in recording studios for the last 6 years, ever since starting life as a runner at Mayfair Studios. He quickly learnt to be an assistant, working on a varied range of different projects inc. Blur, Chris Martin and Jamelia. He then left to explore Vancouver for a year before returning to London in February 2005 and starting work at Miloco Studios.

Ferg is now engineering regularly, having become a firm favourite with producer Ben Hillier on a variety of exciting projects. These have included Stephen Fretwell, Charlotte Hatherley, Natalie Imbruglia, The Horrors and The Maccabees. Away from Ben he has worked with Mr Hudson and the Library, The Dead 60s, Scully plus several others.

James Aparicio

James's first real studio job came as an assistant at The Instrument, the inhouse studio for Mute records where he worked with many respected producers and engineers. For a while he was responsible for just about all the single edits that the label released at that time. He was soon given the position of House Engineer. Since the relocation of Mute and Closure of the studio James has been working for Miloco as well as engineering for and assisting Producer Gareth Jones on all of his projects.

Recently James has been engineering for some of London's most cutting edge bands These New Puritans, XX Teens, Ipso Facto and Ulterior.
Adrian Breakspear

Adrian has been working in recording studios since graduating from Salford University in 2001. He began his career at Battery, and has since worked as an assistant at Abbey Road and Strongroom, before joining Miloco in 2006.

He is a confident and fluid Pro Tools operator, and is equally at home on Neve and SSL consoles (with a slight bias towards the latter, probably due to uncountable hours spent at The Yard!). He also has a keen interest in vintage and modern equipment, and is always keen to experiment with new techniques and approaches to recording.

Adrian regularly engineers for James Lewis (Stephen Budd Management) and is a regular assistant for Mike Crossey (Arctic Monkeys), Alex Dromgoole (Black Kids/Crystal Castles) and Markus Dravs (Coldplay/Arcade Fire), amongst others.
