In 1994 Iain started recording demos for his band on a four track. From 1996 he completed & achieved City & Guilds Parts 1 & 2 and a Music Technology A level. In 1998 he started working for Spiral Media Productions run by a former Neve engineer. It was at Spiral Media that he helped build and wire their new studios and consequently this was a great foundation where he gained valuable techincal and creative insight into recording, from local bands to the diverse of location recordings, such as Gregorian choirs.

In 2000 Iain moved to London and completed an SAE diploma in Audio Engineering. In June 2001 he jointed Metroplolis as a runner and quickly moved on to the newly created Protools Support room where he helped to create and implement strategies and standards to insure safe storage of digital multi-tracks. Over the past 4 years at Metropolis Iain has continued to develop his technical and creative skills, which include knowledge of SSL E, G, J & K series and Neve VR Consoles. Iain is confident working in the analogue and/or digital domain and understands the advantages and disadvantages of both media in various applications.

Since starting at Metropolis Iain has worked with many highly regarded producers (Brian Eno, Mick Jones, Chris Potter, Bill Price, Gary Langan, Tom Elmhirst & Dave Sardi) on a variety of acts such as The Libertines, Richard Ashcroft, Manic Street Preachers, The Verve, Oasis, I Am Kloot and a collaboration between The Edge and Chris Martin. This variety has allowed him to adopt and develop philosophies and standards which help to create an efficient, creative and smooth running sessions.

Iain approaches his sessions with a high level of enthusiasm and passion for making records.

Iain's most recent projects include the debut Larrikin Love album and Jeepster's 2 new signings, Six Nation State & Parka.
