LSS and Miloco Studios announce partnership to provide training for the next generation of sound engineers.

London School of Sound and Miloco Studios are delighted to announce the beginning of a partnership which will help form the next generation of engineers and producers, ensuring continued support for Britain's growing music scene.

Starting from May 2008, LSS will start accepting bookings for a new series of courses and workshops jointly developed with Miloco.

The first to be announced is a series of one-day workshops, respectively dedicated to recording guitars, recording drums, recording vocals, pre-production and mixing; also available separately, together these five sessions are called The Recording & Mixing Workshop.

Anyone with a serious interest in making music for a living will have the opportunity to learn, directly from Miloco's engineers, the techniques and the equipment used in one of the UK's most successful recording studios.

In a real full-immersion experience, participants will be involved in the recording and mixing of professional musicians; to balance the extremely practical nature of the sessions, course-notes will be available long after the end of the workshop via the LSS website.

Finally, the most qualified from those attending the five-day's workshop will be offered the opportunity to join the staff at
Miloco for a month of work experience assisting in the studio.

It is important to note that The Recording & Mixing Workshop is not aimed at complete beginners, and in fact is probably most suited to students of music technology courses, self-taught engineers and producers, and anyone looking in to setting up
a studio.

NIck Young, of Miloco, says:

"Having grown to ten studios in just a few years, we are very concerned with the training of our personnel. Having checked many of the courses out there, it was clear the the LSS should have been our first choice..."

Federico Bersano Begey, of LSS adds:

"In a time where you mostly hear about studios going out of business, Miloco keeps expanding and attracting the most exciting new artists. They have the most dedicated
staff, amazing facilities, and yet despite having The Arctic Monkeys and Kate Nash in their client-list, they manage to maintain a uniquely warm, down-to-earth, friendly vibe about
the place; we could not find a better partner to show our
students how it should be done."

The admission fee for the five-day's Recording & Mixing Workshop is £895, while individual days cost £239. Details about dates, times and availability are published on the website of London School of Sound. Places are strictly limited and the workshops will not be repeated often: it is highly recommended booking early to avoid disappointment.

ABOUT LONDON SCHOOL OF SOUND:

The London School of Sound (LSS) was established in 2004 to provide advanced training in music production and technology.

Incorporating the recording studio originally owned by Pink Floyd since 1975, it provides a unique learning environment that inspires creativity and encourages experimentation.

Cutting-edge technology in the shape of the latest synthesizers, software applications and computers is combined with a large collection of vintage keyboards, guitars and amplifiers - all perfectly maintained and available to use - allowing students and visiting engineers to get the best of both worlds.

In 2005 Apple Computers selected the London School of Sound to be the first Apple Authorized Training Centre for Logic Pro in London, and in 2006 it was the first Training Centre in Europe to run a Logic Level 2 course.

The LSS method uses accelerated learning techniques, extremely small classes and flexible lecture-content to deliver unmatched results in short, highly specific courses. Being a not-for-profit organization, all the income generated by the course fees is reinvested in the school, with immediate benefit for the students.
