Introducing The Market Place Fantastic creative spaces for very affordable prices!

A belated Happy Easter to all! As you will of course now have realised, it's that time of month again where you all get treated to the latest news from us email-mad gossipmongers at
Miloco! To be honest, there's so much going on at the moment we simply can't fit it all into one newsletter, so you can expect an action packed few months of news bulletins this Spring /
Summer! You lucky devils!
As far as April's bulletin is concerned, we're kicking off with news of our latest venture, The Market Place. The Market Place consists of smaller studios, programming suites and
writing rooms occupied on a long-term basis by various producers, engineers and artists. These rooms can now be hired through Miloco for very affordable prices when not being used by their
owners. We have a wide variety of spaces ranging from stand-alone rooms to small studios with booths and live areas, and each room comes with gear supplied by their respective owners
(subject to availability). The rooms usually come with Logic or Protools LE systems and a basic HD rig can be hired on top for £50.00 / day
The hire prices of rooms on The Market Place range from £100-£200 / day, which when considering the excellent quality of their individual specs is fantastic value for money.
Engineers and assistants can be available on top of the cost of the room, although in special circumstances 'Friends of Miloco' can hire the rooms without staff.
We currently have four fantastic rooms up on The Market Place: 3 in Hornsey, North London, and one in the main Miloco building in SE1. Check out the sumarys and links below...
Joel's Place - Hornsey
Based around a beautiful vintage Neve, Protools LE and Logic, and with air-conditioned control room, overdub booth and decent range of gear, Joel's place is a very good budget option.

areas, one large enough to fit a drum kit.

Dig The New Breed...
What a couple of years it's been since we unveiled our Engineer & Producer Management company, Interface. It's been a while since we've reported on our fantastic roster of talent, but
there's no better time for a newsflash than now, with news of three brilliant new engineers joining the Interface ranks. Since the wonderful Jo Beckett took over the reins
towards the end of 2008 we've welcomed to the group Clive Martin,
Amir Amor and Daniel Rejmer, who will each bring their own exciting and distinctive talents to the roster...
Clive Martin hailed from the legendary Trident studios where he engineered for Flood and others for a number of years. He went on to combine his
all-round engineering ability
with a considerable eye for new talent, and successfully discovered and developed bands such as Reef, Puressence and Mansun in the 1990s. Clive has also established himself in
Australia working with Midnight Oil, and in France with Les Negress Vertes. Since joining Interface Clive has been working away on demos for The Lights, writing and recording with
songstress Ellie Lawson and mixing Calvi Russell.
Amir Amor emerged from the UK dance scene DJ'ing on pirate radio stations. It led him to his first studio job at Tribal Tree where he cut his teeth as in-house programmer,
racking up credits for the likes of Shanks and Bigfoot and Big Brovaz. Having also studied Sound Design at Westminster Uni, Amir has become one of the hottest young programmers
on the scene and has recently worked with Clive Martin on hip hop signings Naive New Beaters and producer Jamie Lewis on Lucy Rose. A true all-rounder, Amir is also a multi-instrumentalist,
engineer and producer, and has earnt co-prod credits on the Brand New Heavies and Plan B.
Daniel Rejmer began his career at Melbourne's famous Sing Sing studios, working with top producers Nick Launay, Tom Lord-Alge and Mark Howard. He came to London
four years ago, and began work at Miloco which allowed him to rapidly build his reputation in the UK music scene. This year Daniel's unique talents have earned him
an engineering/co-prod credit on the major Sony BMG signing Little Comets, whose album he is currently working on at Black Box in France. Daniel has also found success in Iceland,
working with Valgeir Sigudsson and on Bjork remixes at Reykjavik's Glasshouse studios.
Our long-term producer/engineers have also been pulling out all the stops across the world of music lately. Pete Hofmann has been enjoying a terrifc year alongside producer Lucas Secon,
working on a number of very exciting forthcoming US pop releases including Sean Kingston and Jordin Sparks. Pete has also been working his magic alongside other big-hitting acquaintances Luke
Haines and Richard X on new material by St. Etienne and Annie. Matt Hyde had another stunning year in 2008 working once more alongside legendary metal producer Colin Richardson on
the latest As I Lay Dying, Kreator and Bullet For My Valentine albums, as well as the US number 1
blockbuster All Hope Is Gone by Slipknot. Independently, Matt has been involved with live mixes on the latest Subways LP, has mixed the new Fightstar album which is enjoying heavy
Radio One rotation, and is currently in the studio with Enjoy Destroy before flying to Italy to produce metalheads Goddass, and South Africa for CrashCarBurn's second album in the
late Summer.
For much of last year Finn Eiles was working on the hugely anticipated return of Madness, engineering for producers Clive Langer and Alan Winstanley. Finn has also been
working with My Bloody Valentine great Kevin Shields, sharing engineering duties with Ben Thackeray, who in addition to working with Kevin has also scored credits for VV Brown, Nadine
Khouri and Gemma Ray. Matt Foster has also been super-busy as usual. As well as working with a number of new acts including Triggah, RND and Legacy, Matt has been rubbing creative shoulders
with Blur's Alex James and the London soul singer Wayne Gidden. He is currently lined up to record an album for a Slice The Pie artist Ilana Lorraine in May. Mr. Foster has also found time
to continue his good work for the London School of Sound.
So with all cylinders firing on the Interface front, we have also decided to revamp the Interface website, which is now slicker, sharper and much easier to use than the older version.
You can check out the website where you'll find biogs, CVs and plenty more information on all of our engineers by clicking here:

... and for all studio bookings!
... so now you know who the best engineers on the block are, let us not forget to remind you where to find the best recording studios as well!
The studio diary has been really firing this year, but as far as we're concerned the more the merrier. With 13 studios of all shapes and sizes now on the books,
and some very exciting new developments on the not-so-far-off horizon, we really do have a studio for every project and every budget!
