Introducing Musikbox Varirates...
A very Happy New Year to you all, and a warm welcome back to Miloco's monthly newsletters! The start of a new and exciting year goes hand in hand with
the introduction of a new and exciting rates setup at Musikbox, our pristine Neve VR60 mix room in North London's Kentish Town. We have thought-up
a new structure at the studio called Varirates, which is designed to help producers and engineers looking only to 'mix in the box', but make use of the
studio's excellent monitoring...
By using Varirates, clients can tailor-down a customised quote from Musikbox's bookrate of £ 600.00 / day, meaning that you will only pay for
the equipment and staff you wish to use, helping to relieve strain on your recording budgets. Here's the deal...
Musikbox can now be hired for a minimum of £ 325.00 / day. This charge covers the use of the Neve VR60 console, all monitoring and the Protools HD3
rig with all plug-ins. You can select from a range of staff (varying in skills and experience) available at a variety of daily fees. Standard studio assistants
can be hired for £ 85.00 / day, or if you really only need a tea boy/girl to fuel your creative engines throughout the session, you can have one for
a mere £ 35.00 / day. The third alternative is limited to clients who are considered to be a close 'Friend of Miloco', and who we'd be happy using
the room without the presence of a member of staff.
Once you have your staff and basic package organised, you can then select individual items from the outboard, synth and microphone specs, and be charged
only for the items which you want to use. This will work brilliantly for producers or engineers wanting to use their own gear with the room's
console and monitors, as they won't have to pay for access to studio gear which they won't need. Items can be selected individually, or within a reduced
package fee which includes all items from a particular category (eg. all of the rooms reverbs or soft synths). Of course if you choose to use enough gear
that the customised quote exceeds the official bookrate of £ 600.00 / day, the quote will be capped at the bookrate.

Garden Backline Update!
Yet more tasty new additions...
Just when you thought our extensive improvements at The Garden were over, we've thrown a whole load more great backline gear at our Shoreditch band
tracking room to enhance its already fantastic backline spec even more.
Firstly, we've gifted the room known as having the best drum sound in the whole of London, with no less than a brand new pristine Yamaha kit. It
comes with 2 bass drums, 5 toms, Noble and Cooley snare and piccolo snare, and a set of sparkling Zildjian Brilliant cymbals. You really will
feel the full force of The Garden's famous live space when taking this top-grade kit for a ride...!
Joining the The Yamaha drums are further new additions including a Roland Jazz Chorus 120 and Mesa Boogie amp, which now line-up alongside the
studio's hugely popular selections of Fender, Marshall and Ampeg amplifiers. So there's now a whole host of choices for all you guitar-wielding axe heroes
to use!!
Our new bits of gear down at The Garden continue the immense new improvements we made at the studio throughout last year, which saw a vast refurbishment
take place that once again gave it the status as one of the coolest band tracking rooms in London. Make sure you experience The Garden's legendary cool vibe
and immense sound by booking some time this year, and adding your name to the list of incredible bands and artists who have tracked classic albums in there...

Assault & Battery 1 available for temporary hire!!
We have some more exciting news heading over from Willesden Green! Flood and Alan Moulder's brilliant Assault & Battery 1 SSL mix room at the Battery complex will be available for hire from Monday 19 January until the end
of March this year. Here's a great chance to get into this world-class mix room, used by Flood and Alan to mix all of their worldwide hit records. It contains an
SSL4000 G+ console, monitoring comprising Yamaha NS10s, Auratone, ATC
and Dynaudio speakers, an extensive selection of outboard gear, Protools 48 output HD rig with 8 core intel mac with loads of plug-ins, plus 1/2" and 2" tape machines.

MPG Awards 2009
We should sign off this month's bulletin by giving a quick shout-out to all those who'll be heading down to the Music Producers Awards 2009, put on once again by the
Music Producers Guild. We very much support all of the good work the Guild does towards representing the best interests for the recording industry,
and wish all of the organisers and awards nominees the best of luck on the night.
The Music Producers Guild Awards 2009 take place on February 12 2009, at The Cafe de Paris in London's West End. You can find out more about the ceremony,
