Miloco on Twitter!
In case this monthly bulletin isn't nearly enough to quench your thirst for Miloco announcements, you'll be pleased to hear that you can now find us regularly waffling on Twitter. We were simply no longer prepared to carry on missing out on this social revelation. So Hey Presto. You can even follow our Tweets on the Miloco website, meaning you'll never even have to leave our cyber-space domain! www.miloco.co.uk/twitter Studio Highlights We should squeeze in a quick studio roundup, after all the building works may have taken centre stage last month but there's still been plenty going on in our other studios to tell you about.
Of course Leroy Street hasn't seen much else other than cement mixers and builders bums, however The Engine Room still held a session with electro band Aeroplane and Miloco engineer Oli Wright, and Nadine Shah worked a couple of sessions with Ben Hillier up in The Toyshop. The last clients to use The Pool in its former environment included Friendly Fires and producer Paul Epworth, and Mpho who worked with Pablo Knight. In East London, The Van Jets spent nearly an entire month in The Garden with producer Jon Gray. Meanwhile the Square played host to Charles Campbell-Jones and Interface's Ben Thackeray, who were followed by Kate Jackson and the legendary Bernard Butler. Over in Highbury, Interface's Matt Foster worked with Bad Girlz in the Yard before Chipmunk came to stay for a few weeks.
Over in London's North-Western postcodes, Musikbox was in full swing with Rodrigo Y Gabriela, who clocked up a load of mix time with producer Colin Richardson and Interface's Matt Hyde. Further West at Assault & Battery 2, Ian Brown continued work with producer Dave McCracken, and Red Light Company checked in with Dimitri Tikovoi. Across the hall in Alpha Centauri, it was an honour to welcome Yusuf Islam and engineer Rupert Cobb to Miloco. We also had the pleasure of Dead or Alive's company at the end of the month.
Beyond the peripheries of the M25, our Surrey residential Fisher Lane was booked out by chart-riding NDubz for the main duration of June. Up in Liverpool, Mike Crossey and Jim Anderson ploughed on with the new Blood Red Shoes album, while across the Pennines in West Yorkshire, The Chairworks was in use by Yann Tiersen and producer Ken Thomas... ... which pretty much sums things up in a small but satisfying nutshell! Follow in the footsteps of June's Milo troopers and book yourself in for some studio time. Linda can be contacted for all studio bookings inside London at linda@miloco.co.uk, and Tor can look after those interested in any of our studio's outside the Big Smoke - email tor@miloco.co.uk. Both can be contacted at the Miloco office on 020-7232-0008.
