Hornsey Programming Room Available!
Great opportunity for a long-term hire starting in July...

Having spent much time sauntering around discussing our beloved trade with you all, it has come to our attention that an absolute shed-load of producers, engineers and musicians are looking for their own long-term studio space to work in. So you'll be pleased to hear that a newly-available programming room in our Hornsey complex in North London is the first piece of joyous news we bring to you this June.

We are now taking enquiries for the next occupant for Hornsey Suite 5, which becomes free in July. This smashing little programming space features a small control room and its own vocal booth, making it perfect for writers, programmers and musicians. Further benefits include having natural daylight, air-conditioning, plenty of storage, a monitored alarm system and 24 hour access around the clock. As part of a 6-suite programming complex, you'll have all the shared amenities on offer including a kitchen, rec room and a bucket load of creative vibe...

... and what makes this an even better coup is that we will be renting out the room for competitive prices. Please note that with all of our longterm let spaces, only the space is provided - we leave it up to you to fill the room with whatever equipment you choose.

If you are interested in finding out more on renting Hornsey Suite 5, then don't hang around a moment longer. It will be snapped up faster than a stray tenner in the House of Commons, so call 020-7232-0008 today before it's too late!

The Square for £300.00 / day!
Enjoy the 'hidden gem of Hoxton' for unbeatable prices!

After beaming around such newly-trodden lands as Liverpool and Santorini recently, this month our studio spotlight returns to the East End to pay homage to the very first Milo studio, The Square, the mother room from which we grew! We're introducing some superb offers at the studio this summer - here's an unmissable opportunity to get into a great mid-range band tracking room for just £300.00 / day ...

25 years on since opening, The Square remains the hidden gem of Hoxton. This cool, vintage-feel studio located on Hoxton Square fits perfectly into the fabric of this energetic and fashionable part of town. Set away from the bustling bars and restaurants on the square in a secluded building, the studio is very popular for its inspiring location, laid-back vibe and great selection of gear.

The Square's 430 sq ft recording area incorporating both a live and dead space, and large isolation booth, offer a wide range of very controlled tracking spaces. Another key highlight is the studio's fantastic choice of outboard and microphones. The rest of the spec is centred around an Amek 2520 console, Pro Tools HD3 system, and ATC SCM200 monitors. There is excellent visibilty throughout the studio which is great when tracking bands.

In the 1980s/90s, The Square became the regular recording location for the likes Marc Almond, Bjork, M-People and Luke Haines, and more recently has been a frequent choice for bands and artists such as Razorlight, Jamie T, Beth Gibbons, The Mystery Jets and James Dean Bradfield.

The Square is now available at an outstanding discounted rate of £300.00 / day. The diary is already filling up for the coming months so don't hesitate to get in touch to book some time at an unbeatable price.

Studio Highlights

From Polish Death Metalers to acoustic rappers from Forest Gate, and pretty much everyone else in between, Miloco's May was a month which any eclectic music fan would be in admiration of. Down at Leroy Street our flagship Engine Room played host to musician / TV composer David Waldner and engineer Matt Lawrence for a couple of weeks, before a familiar face in Plan B returned to SE1 to mix his new album with Mark Rankin. Dance duo PNau clocked up another productive month's worth of Toyshop time upstairs, whilst through in The Pool Stornoway, The Big Pink and Friendly Fires were going full-throttle in our 'extreme live tracking' room.

We hopped on a trusty Routemaster heading North and alighted at Shoreditch, where we found Beat To Paris and Miloco engineer Andy Savours warming the microphones at The Garden. They were followed by Mike Adam and Miloco's Adrian Breakspear, The Impersonals and Grippa, and The Young Hearts who were working with producer Craig Silvey. Around the corner on Hoxton Square, Beat To Paris relocated after a few days in The Garden, and then after a brief but charming visit from X Factor's Diana Vickers, Bluey rolled up for a lengthy stint with Andy Savours.

Up in Islington producer Lexxx Dromgoole had invited all sorts to the The Yard party, amongst them; Chipmunk, Starfuckers, Boy Crisis and The Duke Spirit. A few stops up on the Northern Line in Kentish Town, Musikbox was being occupied by producer Colin Richardson, who with engineers Scott Atkins and Matt Wiggins was mixing metal band Behemoth, and then with Interface's Matt Hyde worked on material by Mexico's Rodrigo Y Gabriela.

'Go West', they sang, and so we did. In Willesden the Battery building was firing in all departments. Interface engineer Dan Rejmer was in Alpha Centauri with Little Comets, and then Dollyrockers took the UK's best spec'd room for a spin with engineer Ray Hedges. Across the hall in Assault & Battery 2, Flood was working with Editors, and shortly after Ian Brown checked in with producer Dave McCracken.

Of course Miloco life spreads beyond the confinement of the capital these days. Over the M25 in Surrey, Manchester dance newcomers Delphic were devouring a slice of country life at our world class UK residential, Fisher Lane. They were working with producer Ewan Pearson. And finally to Liverpool, where Mike Crossey and Jim Anderson were filling their newly-opened Motor Museum with bands and artists such as Si Connelly, The Enemy, Blood Red Shoes and The Suzukis.

And so there we were, from London to Surrey to Liverpool and back. A fine month's work by anyone's standards. If you'd like to follow the footsteps of any of the above names, then get in touch to book a session...

Madness -
'Liberty of Norton Folgate'

They're back - those cockney rapscallions who two decades ago were celebrating the fact that they had spent more time in the UK charts throughout the decade than anyone else on the planet. But that was the 80s and this is now, and what's most important is that the ever-endearing Madness have returned with their eighth studio album. Liberty of Norton Folgate has been 3 years in the making, and early rumblings are popularly leaning towards the critical stamp of 'their best yet'.

The album was produced by Clive Langer and Alan Winstanley, and engineered by Interface's Finn Eiles. It was tracked in The Square and mixed in The Yard.
