Management UpdateRoll up, roll up, and come see what Miloco's wonderful producers and engineers have been up to lately...
Matt Hyde
Our very own king of metal has been flat out for the past few months recording and mixing at Miloco, Jacobs and Townhouse studios. He's currently engineering the forthcoming Fightstar album having just mixed the new Slipknot live album as well as the Roadrunner United 25th Anniversary All-Stars album. For further information on Matt click here.
Pete Hofmann
Pete has been as busy as ever, not least working with Richard X on new material from pop sensation Annie. He has also been lending a hand to none other than Ms Dynamite, alongside engineering remixes for clients as diverse as Nine Inch Nails, Gwen Stefani and New Order. Current releases touched by the hand of Pete and bustling on a record store shelf near you include the new albums from Rachel Stevens and Liberty X. In the last few weeks he has also been working on tracks with ex-Blue boy, Lee Ryan. For further
Finn Eiles
Our resident indie engineering enigma, Finn is amassing quite some reputation. The new Test-Icicles album 'For Screening Purposes Only' was mixed by Finn at Miloco and the two debut singles have been joyously received by fans and critics alike. Finn has also been hard at work with Northern Ireland's Red Organ Serpent Sound and more recently he has been recording for The Mystery Jets, as well as the likes of Tom Vek, Charlotte Hatherley and the much-vaunted Sons & Daughters. For a further low down on Finn click here.
Greg 'The Wizard' Fleming
Greg has been much in demand over the last few months. He was responsible for mixing the much-loved debut album from Roll Deep including the hit single 'Shake A Leg'. More recently he has been working on the debut album from Lady Sovereign (mixing eight of the tracks) as well as projects with X-press 2 and various remixes for Ashley Beedle. Quite where he finds the time we've no idea. You can also follow this link to download a full length article about Greg written for Future Sound magazine. Alternatively, if you wish to check out his
Martin Jenkins
In recent months Martin has been hard at it working for a luscious variety of artists and projects. Not content with engineering for Ben Onono at Miloco and running Protools for The Zico Chain with producer Teo Miller, last month he also popped off to France to run the Protools for French artist Thierry Amiel. Continuing his globe-trotting ways, Martin's most recent project is with Swiss act Water Lily. To check out Martin's CV, slip over here.
Jimmy Robertson
One of our favourite newcomers is starting to make a real name for himself in the world of guitar bands. In the last few months he has been working on Polydor signing Kate Grant, Dive Dive for Island Records as well as other acts such as Wry and Kalev. And alongside helping out those Bloc Party boys and The Futureheads he even managed to fit in a day recording for Rod Stewart! For further information on Jimmy please select here.
Ben Thackeray
After working tirelessly throughout the first half of the year on the recent Madness album 'The Dangermen Sessions Volume 1', Ben has since been busy working on some new acts. He has been mixing a debut album for Charles Campbell-Jones, working on material for Rich File from U.N.K.L.E., engineering for Roots Manuva and, most recently, been seen mixing some tracks for AK47II for those folks at Gronland Records. For further information on Ben please click on this.
Joe Hirst
Joe has had an eclectic year to say the least. First up, he set about mixing tracks for JME and Low Deep which have since been released on the excellent Run The Road 2 compilation. More recently Joe was in recording and mixing b-sides for one of the bands of the year, Bloc Party, and finally he also popped by to help record strings for the Audio Bullys' new single 'I Love You'. With that in mind, we have decided to throw a special December and January offer. We know it's still woefully early to be considering impending fat men in red suits, svelte gentlemen in gaudy panto makeup and horses dressed up with comedy antlers, but we still thought you'd welcome the news of our special festive period reduced rates. From December 15th to January 22nd they're as follows: Studio 1 - The Neve VR - £ 500.00 / day Studio 2 - The Toyshop - £ 150.00 / day Studio 3 - The Square - £ 225.00 / day Studio 4 - The Garden - £ 350.00 / day Except for the week of December 26th to January 1st when they're even lower: Studio 1 - The Neve VR - £ 300 / day Studio 2 - The Toyshop - £ 100 / day Studio 3 - The Square - £ 200 / day Studio 4 - The Garden - £ 250 / day So put in a call to that great auntie today and say, "Terribly sorry, but I'll have to pass on the Bergerac Xmas Special, Vera, I gotta go make my seminal masterpiece." She'll understand. Studio Round-upOctober was busy, busy, busy down in the ever-eclectic Miloco wood. Lesser-spotted metalheads were seen mingling freely with tawny trance demons, whilst indie folk swooned in sunny glades. Yes, all was peaceful, productive and positively jumping... Miloco One (The Neve Room)
Those handsome metalheads, Fightstar, were back in The Neve Room this month, again under the watchful eye of Colin Richardson. They were in mixing album tracks with
Miloco's Matt Hyde engineering once more and Joe Hirst assisting. Our flagship studio also played host to 679 Recordings' The Futureheads, who were in mixing with John
Grey producing and Joe Hirst on assisting duty. And finally there was also time for Lee Ryan to track material for his forthcoming album with Miloco's Pete Hofmann

Miloco Two (The Toyshop)
Christmas is approaching and, like eager kiddies the world o'er, people can't help but love The Toyshop...First up, JME was back at Miloco, this time round indulging in some tracking
with our own 'Gentleman' Joe Hirst. Another Miloco favourite, Ms Dynamite, also made a welcome reappearance. She was in and tracking for a single with our princely pop polisher
Pete Hofmann running the show, and Stewart Harris and Ed Kane lending able assistance. Next up, AK47II slunk in to do a remix with producer Robert Hoile.
Miloco's Ben Thackeray engineered those sessions. Miloco Three (The Square)
Over at The Square, Ben Onono came visiting again, this time to knock out some album tracks with producer/engineer Lance Thomas. Our man Ben Thackeray was in on those sessions too. 679's
Plan B were also in town throughout October working on album tracks. Paul Epworth did some producing, while Greg 'Wizard' Fleming and Finn Eiles took turns in engineering and Ed Kane helped out.
Last up, Island Records' The Love Bites were wrapping their pearly-whites around some tracking with the help of our Ben Thackeray and young Ed Kane.

Ball spotted, prize won!
A fond farewell, Jess
Some sad news this month. Jess Gerry, our Studio Manager, has decided to move on from Miloco. She's been a wonderful and essential member of the team for 3 years, co-ordinating and managing and marshalling all Miloco machinations. Unflappable, incomparable and a thoroughly good egg, we wish her the fondest of farewells and the best of luck with all that her future holds. (We have bets down on how quickly it will take her to get a management company up and running ! Watch this space...) Thanks Jess! P.S. Sorry about the photo but as we never managed to take one over 3 years it was the best we could find !
The Milc-man cometh!
Fear not, friends, for the next delivery is clinking its way through the virtual streets, a crate of loveliness destined for your e-doorstep. The second issue of MILC, our online magazine, is due for delivery this November! Yet again it's brimming with quality items. Top billing goes to our interview with Steve 'Dub' Jones, the legendary producer of The Chemical Brothers, Mint Royale, Madness, John Truelove, Clor and so, so much more. We'll also be profiling the awesome Roadrunner United 'All-Stars' project and introducing you to another member of staff, Greg 'The Wizard' Fleming. So keep your eyes peeled throughout November for the next issue of MILC - it's sure to be calci-yummy!

Turkish hacker watch!
Finally, a nod of respect for the ingenuity of a hacker whose boundless skills were employed with deadly effect... ...on our forum! Yes, a soul who goes under the name of Turkish Hacker Master Revenge, with seemingly precious little else on their To Do list, succeeded in accessing and wiping the entire thing. Quite why we're not sure, but congratulations are offered to the cheeky so-and-so (and our thanks too, as it saved us a little house cleaning. We are in the midst of redesigning an even better forum to be with you at the end of the year).
