Let's dive into the final straits of the year with the exciting news of a newly-available programming suite located in Hornsey, North London. From December
1, this cracking little suite, based in a vibey complex with numerous other programming rooms, will be available for hire.
Like all of our long-term let spaces, this room provides clients with a space to fill and use as they wish - and what a space this one is! 'Hornsey Suite 5' is perfectly suitable for writers, programmers and musicians. This daylit room benefits from having its own small vocal booth, air-conditioning, monitored alarm system and plenty of storage space. There are shared amenities in the building, including a leisurely common rec room, kitchen and bathroom facilities.
Tenants will also benefit from the room's fantastic location. Hornsey is in the heart of leafy North London, and has quick and easy access to popular areas such as Crouch End, Archway, Camden and Hampstead, as well as quick links into the city centre.

We've drummed up enough of our own press and hype this year to rival any US presidential election! It's been a manic year at Miloco, and a historic one too. Our size has ballooned since January, having driven our way through a staggering expansion period, which admittedly has left us a little parched and breathless!! Assault & Battery 2'Fully Charged and No Limits'Tracking / Mixing / Neve - Willesden Green NW10  Assault & Battery 2 is Miloco's joint venture with top producers Flood and Alan Moulder. Located in the rejuvenated Battery complex in Willesden Green, Assault & Battery 2 is a dream tracking studio for producers, engineers and artists. It combines an awesome combination of several large creative recording spaces, and an surpassed equipment spec. It includes a Neve VR60 console, Quested monitors, stacks of top-end outboard and mics, and a phenomenal collection of vintage backline including two rare and priceless Roland System 700 Modular synthesizers. The Killers, Placebo, The Hours and The View have all recently recorded in Assault & Battery 2. Willesden Green is in North West London and is serviced well by the immediate areas of Willesden, Queens Park and Kensal Rise, each with a wide selection of amenities. Popular districts such as Camden and Kensington are only a short bus or tube ride away. www.miloco.co.uk/assault&battery2 El Cortijo'Record in Paradise'Tracking / Residential - Spain  El Cortijo is Miloco's Mediterranean residential, and is located on the South coast of Andalucia. Miloco joined forces with El Cortijo's owner Trevor Morais at the start of 2008, and re-opened this stunning residential which probably ranks as one of the world's most inspirational recording locations. Based in a stunning 7-bedroom villa in the Andalucian mountains and enjoying views of Marbella and the Mediterranean, this beautiful tracking studio, which features a Trident console and variety of recording areas, has welcomed the likes of Mariah Carey, Sade, Bjork and Manic Street Preachers over the years. El Cortijo offers residential recording at its most exclusive and luxurious! El Cortijo is located in the Ronda Park, which overlooks nearby Marbella with its beautiful beaches and famous nightlife. The region also includes famous Spanish cities such as Grenada and Malaga. There are two nearby airports: Malaga and Gibraltar. www.miloco.co.uk/elcortijo Sofa Sound'State of the F****** Art'Mixing / Tracking / SSL - Turnham Green W3  Miloco teamed up with legendary producer Hugh Padgham in 2007 to re-open his exceptional SSL room, Sofa Sound, based in West London. Sofa Sound provides a world class facility for both mixing and tracking. It boasts a beautiful large and daylit control room, centred around a SSL G+ console with Protools HD3 and Apogee Convertors. An incredible collection of outboard is highlighted by Hugh's rare vintage Neve EQs. The beautifully crafted live area can comfortably record a 5-piece band. There are two booths, both able to fit a drum kit. There is also a large recreation room and roof terrace providing views across the city. Recent clients include Stereophonics, Portishead and Starsailor. Sofa Sound benefits from the cosmopolitan strip of Chiswick High Road to the South, and the peaceful and leafy suburbs of Acton to the North. It is perfectly located for the West London labels, who can reach the studio quickly by tube, bus or car. www.miloco.co.uk/sofasound The Garden'Vintage Tracking Heaven'Tracking / Mixing / Neve - Shoreditch EC2  The Garden is one of London's truly great band tracking studios. Located in Shoreditch, it occupies the basement floor of a period building and offers a private, secluded and creative getaway for artists, while still being in touching distance of London's buzzing East End. Built around a 470 sq ft live room with a number of isolation booths, the studio provides a charasmatic and vibey space for bands to spread out and make their own during sessions. The control room features a vintage Neve V3 console and recently-installed Boxer T2s. Some of the bands to have recently been lured to this legendary studio include Arctic Monkeys, Late of the Pier, Gallows and Spiritualized. Shoreditch has become London's synonymous hotspot for alternative fashion, art and music. There are countless venues across the district, which fill up every night with clubbers and gig-goers. Liverpool Street station is ten minutes from the studio. www.miloco.co.uk/garden The Engine Room'Flagship Mix and Tracking Wonderland'Mixing / Tracking / Neve - Bermondsey SE1  The Engine Room is Miloco's flagship studio, located in our HQ in SE1. One of London's most established mix rooms, The Engine Room is based around a Neve VR60 console, customised Munro M4 speakers, powerful Protools HD3 rig and a vast selection of outboard. However the room has become an increasingly popular tracking studio as well, with a 640 sq ft live room incorporating a large isolation booth and great selection of backline gear, including a Yamaha Baby Grand, as well as Hammond, Rhodes and Wurlitzer keyboards. The Engine Room has become a first-choice studio for such top industry names as The Chemical Brothers, Slipknot, Razorlight and Jarvis Cocker. This classic tracking room was completely refurbished in 2004, restoring its status as a hugely popular band tracking studio. Its 430 sq ft live room offers a dynamic range of sounds, helped by a wooden floor at one end, and marble floor at the other to create a more live sound. A spacious 400 sq ft control room features an Amek 2520 console and ATC SCM200 monitors. Some of the bands and artists who have enjoyed this incredibly laid-back and vibey studio include Jamie T, Mystery Jets, Beth Gibbons, The King Blues and James Dean Bradfield. Alpha Centauri'The UK's Best Spec'd Mix Room'Mixing / SSL - Willesden Green NW10  Alpha Centauri is Miloco's newest SSL mix studio, located in the revitalised Battery complex in Willesden Green. Miloco opened Alpha Centauri in the summer alongside owner Steve Rhodes, and it has since ranked as the best spec'd mix studio in the UK. Based around a pristine SSL SL4060 G+ console, a combination of monitors including some Dynaudio M4+ custom built speakers, large booth and an unbelievable collection of top-end outboard gear, Alpha Centauri is simply a dream for mix engineers and producers. It boasts a beautiful design and dazzling interior to complement its world-class spec. Sugababes, DJ Ironik, PJ Harvey and Glasvegas have all been in there recently. This legendary studio in the heart of the Surrey countryside has produced albums by the likes of Genesis, Phil Collins and Eric Clapton over the years. The vast daylit control room features a SSL E series console, Westlake HR1 monitors and racks of quality outboard. The expansive and dynamic live areas, comprising a main playing room and stone booth, feature a beautiful Steinway MIDI Grand, and a sumptuous collection of guitars, amps and keyboards. Having acquired two charming 4-bed cottages this year, Fisher Lane now ranks as the only top-end residential retreat within easy reach of London. Fisher Lane is based in the beautiful country village of Chiddingfold near Guildford. There are a number of attractive pubs in the village, and of course plenty on offer in Guildford itself. The studio can be reached from West London in an hour by car. www.miloco.co.uk/fisherlane The Pool'Extreme Live Recording'Tracking - Bermondsey SE1  The Pool is Miloco's extreme live tracking room, and was conceived from the vision of producer Ben Hillier to build an innovative recording space where artists and producers can work in a unique creative environment. It occupies a vast 1800 sq ft 3-storey warehouse incorporating both the live and control areas, and offering a totally original vibe to any other studio in the business. It is filled with rare and sought-after analogue toys Ben has collected throughout his career, as well a rare EMT console and racks of vintage outboard. Some of the bands who have realised the astonishing potential of The Pool include Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, Bloc Party, Editors and Travis. Located off Tower Bridge Road in Bermondsey, the studio is perfectly located for attractions such as Borough Market, the bars and restaurants of Bermondesy Street and Borough High Street, London Bridge station and the world-famous Southbank. www.miloco.co.uk/pool Musikbox'Mixing Outside of the Box'Mixing / Neve - Kentish Town NW5  Musikbox is Miloco's second Neve VR60 mix room located in Kentish Town, North London. This chic, leisurely and well spec'd studio is one of the best mid-range mix rooms in London. Joining the Neve desk is some fantastic ATC monitors, Protools HD3 Accel rig with 48 outputs, a large range of top-end outboard and plug-ins and a fantastic selection of analogue synths provided by studio owner DJ Pete Heller. There are two additional booths: one large enough to fit a kit, and the other perfect for vocal and guitar amp recording. Musikbox's secluded location and leisurely, comfortable atmosphere has attracted the likes of Coldplay, Macy Gray, UB40, Adele and Sam Sparro over the last year. Located slightly to the North of Camden Town, Musikbox enjoys all the action of one of Europe's most famous nightlife areas. Alternatively, the beautiful Hampstead Heath is also moments away. There are fast connections into Central London. www.miloco.co.uk/musikbox The Yard'London's Most Affordable SSL Room'Mixing / Programming / SSL - Highbury N1  The Yard is located on Highbury Corner in North London, and although one of the city's most affordable SSL rooms, still provides a fantastic space for SSL mixing or programming. The studio features a SSL G Series 48-channel desk, Boxer T2 speakers, high spec Protools HD3 rig and large amount of outboard. After a large refurbishment in 2008, it now boasts an immaculate vocal booth, newly-decorated rec room, atmospheric lighting and new air-conditioning system. Some of the recent artists to use the room include Coldplay, Martha Wainwright, Madness, Barry Adamson and Crystal Castles. Incredible value for money. Located just off Highbury Corner, The Yard benefits from all of the local amenities which line the desirable Upper Street in Islington. Once famously providing The Chemical Brothers with a space to launch their careers, the studio now serves as the creative base of in-demand production duo, Steve Dub and Segs, who have complemented the 325 sq ft daylit room with a formidable collection of keyboards, guitars, vintage outboard and microphones. They join a DDA console, Dynaudio BM15 monitors, and small vocal booth, which further enhances the room's capacity as a fantastic space for writing, recording vocals or overdubs. VV Brown, Kid British and Delphic have all recently recorded albums in The Toyshop.
