Introducing Assault & Battery 1
'More Than Just a Mix Room'

A new month, a new season, and yet another new studio at Miloco. This October we have once again joined forces with the legendary Alan Moulder and Flood to open another world class recording studio at the famous Battery complex in Willesden Green. Assault & Battery 1 is an SSL mix room with a real edge, and is Alan's first-choice studio to take his mix projects to. Some of his most recent albums to have been mixed in the room include the Killers' Sam's Town, Bloc Party's Intimacy, White Lies' To Lose My Life, Wolfmother's Cosmic Egg and Arctic Monkeys' Favourite Worst Nightmare.

Assault & Battery 1 is an intimate, individual and outstandingly accurate mix environment. An exceptional spec has been compiled by Alan and Flood throughout their careers. It features a pristine 72 Channel SSL G+ SL4000, a huge range of outboard including many rare and popular compressors, mic pres, reverbs and effects processors, and a Protools HD 192 rig loaded with an unbelievable number of plug-ins. There is also access to a magnificent choice of guitars and amps, complemented by Alan's immense collection of pedals; you'll find all sorts from the likes Death By Audio, Electro Harmonix, Lovetone, Providence and other manufacturers.

The studio also comprises a large overdub booth measuring 15 square meters. It can be used in a number of different ways. It is of course a great space to record vocals and guitars, but is often used as a 'B studio' for editing work, and also a lounge area. Both the booth and control room are dominated by warm and atmospheric lighting, decoration and furniture, making it a cool and inspiring studio environment. Some of the extra special touches include features such as the beautifully-maintained guitars and platinum discs lining the walls, which depict parts of Alan and Flood's illustrious careers.

We have now opened the doors of Assault & Battery 1 to the recording world. To find out more on this outstanding mix studio, and for all booking enquiries, call the Miloco office on 020-7232-0008.

Hoxton Programming Suite Available in November
There may be more on the way too...!

If hibernation is on the cards this winter, we might have just the thing for you. One of our Hoxton Market long-let rooms is freeing up at the end of October, so we're looking for a new tenant to move in.

'Hoxton Suite 3' is one of five programming rooms based in the complex and is perfect for a writer or programmer. It measures 12.5 sq meters and benefits from having natural daylight and its own storage cupboard. It is a dry hire space, meaning we invite the tenant to equip the room with their own gear. There is 24-hour access, a red care alarm system, shared bathroom facilities and of course the buzz of Hoxton on your doorstep. Oh yes, and the room's rates are very competitive too...

... and at the time of writing, the news is filtering through that there may be two more rooms at Hoxton Market possibly freeing up in the near future. Stay posted for more information on that..!

Due to the high demand of programming rooms at the moment, don't miss out on these great spaces, and get in touch with the office ASAP, on 020-7232-0008.

Empirical Labs EL8-X Distressors in The Engine Room

Due to popular demand, The Engine Room's outboard spec has been enhanced by the addition of a pair of Empirical Labs EL8-X Distressors. Unlike the EL8 version, these ever-popular compressors come with the pre-installed 'Brit Mod' feature, which gives engineers and producers that extra versatility to experiment with.

Congratulations to our MOBO 2009 clients!

We're wrapping up this month's bulletin by putting our hands together for all of our clients involved in this year's fantastic MOBO Awards in Glasgow. We had a good showing of clients involved at the event, including NDubz, who scooped the awards for Best UK Act and Best Album for the Miloco-mixed 'Uncle B'. Now for album number 2, which is being produced at Fisher Lane and Chairworks, set for release at the end of the year.

JLS, who have recently been in Alpha Centauri, won Best Song, and Chipmunk, who has been in The Yard throughout the year won Best Hip Hop act.

We're not stopping there either, as other clients such as Tinchy Stryder, Kelly Rowland (with David Guetta) and Ironik, joined the award-winners on the bill of live performances. So congratulations to you all - t'was a great show!
