Here you can find information on some of the recent releases that have reached the shops. All of these releases were either partially or completely recorded and mixed at Miloco Studios. If we have missed a release please let us know and we shall endeavour to give it a plug !

The special edition release of The Subways' second album features a profoundly kick-arse double-side live DVD, mixed by Interface rock/metal engineer Matt Hyde.

Matt mixed the live cuts in Musikbox in March 2008.

Check out this limited edition 7" and download release, featured on the latest Long Blondes album, Couples.

Couples was tracked in The Garden and mixed in Musikbox in late 2007 by producer Erol Alkan and engineer Jimmy Robertson.

# The Rascals - 'Rascalize'     www.myspace.com/rascalmusic
Miles Kane returns to the day job after the flash of mass-success that illuminated The Last Shadow Puppets. Rascalize marks the next big event in the ever-relentless scene of modern-day Brit-Rock.

The album was tracked in The Pool and mixed in The Engine Room by producer Ben Hillier and Interface engineer Ferg Peterkin, throughout late 2007 and early 2008. The band spoke to Miloco's MILC magazine too. You can read the interview here.

# Coldplay - 'Viva La Vida or Death And All His Friends'     www.myspace.com/coldplay
Coldplay return once again to bid for all the top honours as standard, with one of the biggest releases of the year. Viva La Vida or Death And All His Friends, whichever title should take your fancy, looks set to see the band reach further commercial milestones, with a cool 300,000 copies sold within three days of release in the UK alone.

The album was co-produced by Brian Eno and Markus Dravs, and was brought to Miloco's Yard and Muskibox in late 2007 and early 2008. You can read Miloco's interview with Markus Dravs here.

The Leeds-raised indie rock stalwarts return for their third studio album, Strength In Numbers, six years after their self-titled debut. A sharp-reminder of how Kasabian's contemporary dance-rock crown is not untouchable...

A selection of songs off Strength In Numbers were tracked in The Garden by producer Tim Holmes.

# The Tunics - 'Somewhere In Somebody's Heart'     www.myspace.com/thetunics
The Tunics are the newest rock sensation to hail from the South-London suburbs of Croydon. Their eclectic indie debut Somewhere In Somebody's Heart promises to be a cult classic this summer.

Somewhere... was produced by James Lewis and engineered by Miloco's Adrian Breakspear. The album was tracked in The Garden and mixed in The Yard in 2007.

'Red Socks Pugie' is the third single from Foals' brilliant debut album Antidotes and sits pretty next to the Miloco-mixed b-side 'Sketch for ESG'.

Producer Mike Crossey took the chair in Miloco's Engine Room to mix the b-side in March 2008.

# Alphabeat - 'This Is Alphabeat'     www.myspace.com/thisisalphabeat
The Danish Uber-Pop outfit Alphabeat have been enjoying the attention of their adoring UK fanbase since re-locating to London earlier in the year, and have lit-up the alternative pop scene with a whirlwind of press plus a headline slot on the succesful Wonky Pop Tour. The turn of the summer marks the band's debut album release, the self-announcing This Is Alphabeat.

Mike Spencer produced the album at Miloco, using The Engine Room for mixing with Interface engineer Finn Eiles.

# Mystery Jets - 'Two Doors Down'     www.myspace.com/mysteryjets
The Jets take a summer-time dip into the waters of classic 80s pop for the third single release from their new album, Twenty One.

Twenty One was tracked and mixed by producer Erol Alkan and engineer Al O'Connell at a variety of Miloco Studios: The Pool, Sofa Sound and Musikbox.

Mr Lean and his 'J'-friendly cohorts release single number 2, fresh off their highly-anticipated forthcoming debut album, set for release this summer.

Producer Mike Crossey mixed 'Where Do You Go' in Miloco's Musikbox in December 2007.

Peckham's favourite indie-rock rogues unleash their newest single, 'Last of the Lookers', the follow-up to 'Education Part 2'.

Producer Clive Langer and Interface engineer Finn Eiles tracked the single in The Square in 2007.

Jason Pierce's world-famous outfit return for their sixth studio album, in good time to prove they are still the masters of their distinctive uplifting psych-gloom indie legacy.

Songs in A&E was mixed in The Garden throughout the Spring of 2007. Jason also occupied one of Miloco's private programming suites last year.

The new single from Martha, released on 7" vinyl, is a sumptous taster of the great new material on her latest album, I Know You're Married But I've Got Feelings Too.

Producer Mike Hedges mixed 'Bleeding All Over You' in The Yard in November 2007.

The pilot flight from Spiritualized's sixth studio album, Songs in A&E. Another fine display of Jason Pierce's refined string-sweeping anthemic psych-indie.

Songs in A&E was mixed in The Garden throughout the Spring of 2007. Jason also occupied one of Miloco's private programming suites last year.

# Adem - 'Takes'     www.adem.tv
Introduce yourselves to the third solo album from the former-Fridge member and now acclaimed nu-folk pioneer. Adem's Takes is a truly inspirational set of 12 covers he was fond of as a youth, and has earned him a place on the NME's recent 'Top 50 modern innovators of music' poll.

Takes was engineered by Interface's Mark Rankin. Mark and Adem used The Pool for parts of the albums tracking phase.

# Martha Wainwright - 'I Know You're Married But I've Got Feelings Too'     www.myspace.com/marthawainwright
The latest apple to fall from the Wainwright family tree comes from daughter / sister Martha. It's somehow hard to believe this is only her second album, but it is yet further evidence of the free-flowing song-writing talent in the family blood. I Know You're Married... contains covers by Pink Floyd and Eurythmics.

A selection of tracks from I Know You're Married... were mixed in The Yard in November 2007 by producer Mike Hedges.

The Bad Seeds get their groove going to some soothing Rhythm & Blues for the second single from Dig!!! Lazarus Dig!!!. The Cave crew pull yet another corker from their vintage hats!

The Garden was used to lay overdubs across the whole of Dig!!! Lazarus Dig!!!. The sessions were produced by Nick Launay and engineered by Kevin Paul.

A fluorescent plimsole'd army awaits. Finally, Hadouken!'s pionnering grindie debut is unleashed.

The Yard and The Engine Room were both used to mix Music For An Accelerated Culture. Interface's Iain Gore and engineer Alex Dromgoole were both on mixing duties.

Following on from their 2007 mini-album, Forever On, The Draytones set about to in inject some psychedelia into the current indie rock scene. Up In My Head is the London band's full-length debut.

Album track 'Summer's Arrived' was mixed in Sofa Sound by Jamie Lewis in December 2007.

The agonising ten-year wait for a new Portishead record is over. Rejoice, Third is here!!

Portishead used Miloco 9 - Sofa Sound in the final stages of production on the album. They were there in October 2007 with engineer Craig Silvey.

You'd do well to avoid the press hype engulfing these Canadian electro innovators at the moment. Their self-titled debut album is surely a front-runner for best newcomer of the year.

Crystal Castles mixed Crystal Castles in The Yard in December 2007 with engineer Alex Dromgoole.

# dEUS - 'Vantage Point'     www.myspace.com/deusbe
Vantage Point is the triumphant ninth album from prominent Belgian indie-rockers dEUS. The band hit the road on a world tour later in the year.

Interface engineer Joe Hirst was flown out to dEUS's own studio in Belgium, where he worked alongside producer Dave McCracken, in the latter part of 2007 and start of 2008.

Pop Grooves release the new feel-good single from London indie band Idle Lovers. Just because they're idle, doesn't mean they're selfish. The new Elvis Costello and the Attractions??

The single was tracked in Miloco 3 - The Square in September 2007 by producer Premen Underhill.

This Parisian duo took the channel crossing to pursue their love of post-punk in London. Their debut album is a fine take on influences such as Gang of Four, Joy Division and Sonic Youth, with an unmissable and resounding spread of French electro throughout.

The self-titled debut LP from John & Jehn was mixed in The Yard in November 2007 by engineer Matt Pharrah.

Geek-chic appears to be escalating to new heights. Esser (born Ben Esser) is carving himself an uncomparable position at the cutting edge of pop. A star beckons!

'I Love You' was mixed in The Yard in December 2007 by engineer Alex Dromgoole.

Whereas the Arctics make the headlines for Sheffield music, let us not forget another of the Steel City's true contemporary innovators. The Long Blondes are back in fine fettle with the follow up to debut album Someone to Drive you Home, ploughing further into their distinct field of vigorous indie synthpop.

Couples was tracked by producer Erol Alkan and engineer Jimmy Robertson in The Garden in October and November 2007.

Debut set from the hotly-tipped Mancunians. 12 uplifiting songs of arena-friendly indie rock, including singles 'Not Nineteen Forever' and 'What Took You So Long'.

St. Jude was partly-mixed in The Engine Room in August 2007, by producer Ben Hillier and Interface engineer Ferg Peterkin.

# Eight Legs - 'Searching for the Simple Life'     www.myspace.com/eightlegs
Here's the debut album from Eight Legs - a collection of blues-influenced indie. Their 'search' has thus far lead them from a quiet youth in Stratford-Upon-Avon to the tougher North London district of Wood Green, where the lad-like and Libertine-esque quartet caught the eye of Weekender Records.

Producer John Fortis and Interface engineer Martin Jenkins mixed the album in The Yard in August 2007.

More soothing surf-folk from the nattiest strummer around. Faulkner lengthens the legacy of his platinum-selling Hand Built By Robots album.

Newton Faulkner's 'I Need Something' was produced by Mike Spencer at Miloco in 2007.

The former Magazine bassist and Bad Seed member returns once again with more experimental explorations into jazz and electronica.

The latest product of Manchester's well-oiled conveyor belt of rock talent take their final preparations before the launch of their hotly anticipated debut album.

The Bullet boys are back in town. 'Hearts Burst Into Fire' - another fire-cracker specimen of BFMV's multi-million selling hardcore, is released from the band's Scream Aim Fire album.

Interface engineer Matt Hyde engineered Scream Aim Fire, throughout 2006 and 2007, with metal super-producer Colin Richardson.

This US electronica act are one of a handful of American bands making waves on the UK alternative live circuit. Memsmeric electro-melodies are a commonplace feature of CC's tunes, as displayed beautifully on 'Courtship Dating'.

A selection of tracks from the band's debut album was mixed in The Yard by Alex Dromgoole in December 2007, including 'Courtship Dating'.

The magnificent Foals hit the floor in turbo gear with the scintillating debut, Antidotes. Baby horses? These groundbreaking mathrock Oxfordians were born with the power of Roman cavalry stallions!!

Antidotes was mixed in Miloco One - The Engine Room, by producer/engineer Mike Crossey in November 2007.

Hailing from a place as fantastical-sounding as Eel Pie Island, you'd be forgiven for expecting some intriguingly eccentric twists to the Mystery Jets' strand of indie-folk, and once again they deliver with Twenty One, the follow up to 2004's Making Dens.

Mystery Jets did the Miloco tour in the latter half of 2007. The Pool, The Garden, Musikbox, Sofa Sound and The Square were all used by the band, producer Erol Alkan and engineer Jimmy Robertson during the making of Twenty One.

One of the key soundtracks to the 2008 chapter of nu-rave has arrived. Don't rely on the the inadequately-sized sleeve to jog your memory of the record's name.

You Have No Idea What You Are Getting Yourself Into was partially mixed in Sofa Sound in October and November 2007 by producer/engineer Eliot James.

A new year, a new season, and the Kate Nash success story rolls on as freely as ever. 'Merry Happy' is released amidst a flurry of festival performances around the globe.

Forget comparing 'The Bears are Coming' to the type of noise that keeps you up all night, thanks to the downstairs Freshers' third bloody facebook party of the week, here Late of the Pier have infact achieved a sound that sounds like the party itself, which we believe is very impressive, not least to mention pretty damn funky.

'The Bears are Coming' was tracked in The Garden in August 2007 nby producer Erol Alkan and engineer Jimmy Robertson.

Having formed in 2005 for the sake of competing in a school 'Battle of the Bands' contest, little did Aussie indie-pop starlets Operator Please know then that within two years they would have played Reading and Leeds, as well as tour as support to the likes of Bloc Party and Arctic Monkeys. Their debut album, Yes Yes Vindictive was produced by Simon 'Barny' Barnicott in 2007, and is now released by Brille.

The Engine Room was used for overdubs on the album in September 2007. Barny and the band also made good use of The Pool and Sofa Sound last year.

North London's Eight Legs release the single 'Freaking Out The Neighbours' on Weekender Records, prior to a 14-date jaunt across Europe.

Oxford's latest offering continue their ground-breaking exploration into contemporary disco, fully-armed with Math-rock guitars and grappling dance beats.

As one of the big tips for the year, Joe Lean and his alliterated cohorts put a spring into the step of spring with this sumptuously scintillating single !

The b-side to Joe Lean and the Jing Jang Jong's 'Lonely Buoy' goes by the name of 'Forever Saying Sorry', and was mixed by Interface's Finn Eiles in The Yard in December 2007.

Original band, original track, and with an original video. Mystery Jets certainly don't conform to mainstream trends, and they're all the better for it. Adding to the magic of this, their latest single, is a collaboration with another of Miloco's brightest young clients, Laura Marling.

'Young Love' was tracked in The Pool by producer Erol Alkan and engineer Jimmy Robertson in 2007.

One of the fast-rising bands of London's indie circuit release their new single, 'Tightrope', capturing their raucous, stand-up-straight live front.

Back to the day job after his gloriously plucky Grinderman project, Nick Cave and his Bad Seeds return with their fourteenth studio album. Prepare for more jerky, funked-up grit-rock from the man with the coolest mid-life crisis in music.

The Garden was used to lay down overdubs for Dig!!! Lazarus Dig!!!. The Bad Seeds were there with producer Nick Launay and engineer Kevin Paul in September 2007.

Hatcham Social release their first single. This enchanting slice of indie-pop was tracked under the production guidance of Hatcham's label-mate and fellow Miloco client, Farris Rotter, of Horrors fame.

New single from the fresh Aussie teenagers who have become firm favourites on the contemporary UK indie scene.

Operator Please were in The Engine Room with producer/engineer Simon Barny Barnicott laying overdubs for the single in September 2007.

Emo-inflenced indie duo I Was A Cub Scout release their debut album on XL. Well these multi-instrumentalists caught the legendary eye and ear of producer Hugh Padgham in the first place. Enough said me thinks.

Hugh Padgham produced I Want You To Know That There Is Always Hope in Miloco Nine: Sofa Sound, in 2007.

Not only has Laura Marling made the most justifiably hyped folk album for some time, she has also created a seemingly perfect soundtrack to the much-practiced art of panic paddling. Enchanting music from the Eversley songstress.

Alas I Cannot Swim was partly mixed in The Engine Room in July 2007, by legendary producer Phill Brown.

The Joy Division-reminiscent second single off These New Puritans' startling debut album. Was he or wasn't he talking about that king? It is confusing.

These New Puritans and producer Gareth Jones used The Toyshop and The Square when recording the Beat Pyramid album in 2007.

Debut single from the new disco-punks sees a mightily fine display of funk bass, the glorious return of the rhythmic cowbell and a generous portion of "heys".

Hey Hey Hey was mixed in the SSL in June 2007 by producer/engineer James Lewis. The Toyshop was used for overdubs.

The second album from The Duke Spirit sees them galvanize their sound further into the sinister themes that caught rock music's imagination with their debut record. A bed of rapturous guitar riffs and seductive rock grooves lay the foundations of another great Duke Spirit album.

Neptune's first single, Lassoo, was mixed in The Engine Room by producer Ben Hillier and Interface engineer Ferg Peterkin.

No doubt named after the tender age of London's latest teen talent, the debut album by Adele has been propelled to the top of most hotly-tipped lists for 2008 by the singer-songwriter's smoky yet shining vocals.

19 was partly mixed in Musikbox in June 2007 by producer Jim Abbiss and engineer Richard Wilkinson.

Signed to Miloco client Erol Alkan's Phantasy Sound label, Primary 1 looks set to give the likes of Justice a good run for their money this year. This disco funk pop E.P. features a cracking title track - Primary 1 has certainly hit the ground running in 2008.

Hold Me Down was mixed in the Engine Room in August 2007 by Interface's beat master extroadinaire, Steve Dub.

This mysterious band from Southend-on-Sea have been bubbling under the surface for a while, but the kettle is boiling vivaciously at the start of the year. Their cryptic sound has had the talents of Depeche Mode and Einsturzende Neubauten producer/engineer Gareth Jones stoking it along the way.

Gareth Jones and These New Puritans made Beat Pyramid in The Toyshop and Square in 2007.

Following a week after the latest Bullet single of the same name, Scream Aim Fire follows the million + selling 2005 album, The Poison. The metalcore icons manage to take a more melodic route to their previous efforts whilst somehow achieving a greater heaviness and drive than ever before.

Scream Aim Fire was a trans-atlantic works. Tracked on a ranch in Texas, it was then brought back to London for mixing, with producer Colin Richardson and Interface engineer Matt Hyde piloting the crew all the way, musically, not aeronautically, duh.

Having relocated from their hoemtown of Glasgow to the depths of East London, it was only a matter of time before Parka stumbled across Miloco. Disco Dancer was tracked in The Garden by Iain Gore in April 2007.

Followng in the footsteps of their great pals, Arctic Monkeys, this Merseyside rock trio are set for a rip-roaring breakthrough in 2008. Out Of Dreams, a 4-track E.P., is the band's first official release, on Liverpool label Deltasonic.

The Rascals were in The Pool in the summer of 2007 with producer Ben Hillier and engineer Ferg Peterkin tracking the E.P. It was mixed in The Engine Room.

Tattooed on stage, cracked-open heads, untamable mosh-pits, and that's just Gallows' year on the live circuit!! From their time in the studio the Watford punks' masterpiece, Orchestra Of Wolves, has been given three different spins in 2007, this being the third. Brace yourself for more previously unreleased tunes of fierce and barbaric hardcore mastery, of course joined by the tracks that throughout the year have propelled Frank and the boys into global punk heroes.

Gallows were in The SSL and The Garden on several occasions throughout the year with Interface engineer Matt Hyde, who engineered a selection of tracks off Orchestra of Wolves.

Spider Webb and Tomethy Furse are often spotted plying their trades as two of The Horrors, however for now they have stepped away from the day jobs to become Spider and the Flies. Their first single, Metallurge, concocts a sonic stew of beats, bleeps, creaks, the odd chiming bell, perhaps a few bleeting sheep if you listen carefully enough etc. etc. Great tune by the way.

Spider and the Flies were in The Toyshop in May 2007, where Metallurge was created. It was produced and engineered by Interface's Ferg Peterkin.

For their brilliant fourth album, The Brakes boys have drafted in Kings Of Leon / Ray Lamontagne / Ryan Adams producer Ethan Johns.

Turin Brakes and Ethan Johns were in Miloco 8: The Pool tracking the new album in January 2007.

Possibly one of the most outlandish tunes The Chems have ever conjured up, 'Salmon Dance' is reminiscent of any old nursery rhyme about a fish, warped through some tripped-out time machine to when martians were celebrating 1960s psychedelia. Brilliant.

'Salmon Dance' is the second single from The Chemical Brothers' 'We Are The Night' album, which was worked on throughout 2006 and 2007 in The Neve, Toyshop and Garden with engineer Steve Dub.

Not so long ago, Mr. Faulkner was struggling to secure a record deal, as he claims numerous label bosses deemed him as "schizophrenic". Now of course he has jostled Elvis Presley off the album chart's peak, as a result of his debut LP's soaring success. His top trump card excels in witty lyrics, great voice, exceptional acoustic guitar playing and brilliant hair.
