Assault & Battery 2 Goes Grand. We Unveil a Grotrian Steinweg Concert Grand Piano
Posted on 28th September 2011
We are delighted to announce the very special arrival of a Grotrian Steinweg Concert Grand Piano at Assault & Battery 2, in North West London. A&B2 is one of the UK’s very best recording studios with a comprehensive spec and selection of great recording rooms. Now with the addition of this beautiful Grand we can cater for all piano sessions.
Built in 1982 and measuring 2.2m x 1.5m (7.2” x 4.8”) the piano was owned and used extensively by legendary producer Alan Parsons (Beatles, Pink Floyd, Alan Parsons Project) while residing at Abbey Road Studios. It can be heard on many Alan Parsons Project albums such as 'Eye In The Sky' and 'Gaudi'. Since then it has been played on many other great records by a host of recording stars.
With a brand new home at Assault & Battery 2 the piano can continue its legacy. It now means we can record classical, jazz or any other musical genre that requires a great piano.
The latest addition to Assault & Battery 2’s renowned equipment spec, which is provided by leading producers Flood and Alan Moulder, has cemented the studio’s reputation as a truly world-class recording facility.
