Contrepoint

Contrepoint studio

Neve, Adam and HD
Fender Bassman & Rhodes

Studio Contrepoint was founded in 2008. From the very start our goal was to give musicians the best possible conditions to work in, so we included luxurious accommodation within the building which is surrounded by the huge, beautiful park.

The defining moment in the studio's creation was when we stumbled upon the Neve VX-72, which was previously in operation in a London studio and used on the Soundtrack to the Lord Of The Rings trilogy. After we relocated this pristine condition desk to Contrepoint we fitted it with the best extensions such as Encore plus and the Fader Direct Input, for the absolute best transparency.

We decided to build two live rooms of different sizes to give more flexibility. Both live rooms have a direct line of sight to the control room, allowing visual communication between the musicians and engineer. We hired the architect JP Lafont to design the acoustics in both the live rooms and control room where extreme attention has been paid to the monitoring system. Mission complete! The monitoring quality is excellent, the live rooms are perfect for guitars, drums, piano, vocals, (although a tad too small for an orchestra maybe...).

A lot of thought went into creating the equipment spec. The idea was to offer some good vintage analogue hardware in connection to the somewhat impersonal world of 0s and 1s. So you'll find amazing gear from well-known brands such as Lexicon, Fearn, EAR, GML, TCElectronics, Dynax, etc. We are always willing to expand what we have on offer, little by little... There is also room for your own gear: 48 analog and 16 digital tie-lines are waiting for your equipment.

Have a look at the equipment page!
