Fisher Lane - 'Escape, Relax, Create'

Fisher Lane Studio Overview
![]() |
Fisher Lane was built in the early 1980s from a disused cowshed located on the outskirts of Chiddingfold, a quintessential English village near Guildford.
For nearly three decades the studio has regularly attracted some of the biggest names in the music world, and has been resposible for the production of many globally-sucessful
albums such as Genesis' Invisible Touch, Phil Collins' ... But Seriously, and Eric Clapton's August, to name a few. We are now thrilled to be
operating this exceptional recording studio as a newly established and first-rate UK residential.
Today the studio comprises four main areas, which are spread across both the building's original structure and a large extension. The vast control room is based in the extended half of the building, which was built in the mid-1980s to provide an expansive, airy and laid-back space to accommodate the band's SSL E series console and sizeable collection of outboard. The desk is joined by an awesome monitoring system, boasting some Westlake HR1 Monitors with a Sigtech AEC1000 Processor and powered by 6 x PSA2 amplifiers. To the left of the console are the racks of outboard, which boast a great choice of pre-amps and FX modules, as well as two vintage tape machines. To the right of the console, a large window allows natural daylight to pour into the room, and provides stunning views across the idyllic rural surroundings. The room's design and layout provides an abundance of space for clients to spread out in, and houses a luxurious seating area. |

Located on the other side of a large glass divide is the studio's brilliant live area. This spacious live room can comfortably cater for large ensembles and proudly boasts an exquisite 7-foot Steinway grand piano with Forte Music MIDI. Accompanying the Steinway is an extensive collection of top-quality backline equipment, which is available for hire on sessions for very reasonable prices. It includes some mouth-watering collections of guitars and keyboards, including rare and highly sought-after guitars by Gretch, Rickenbacker, Fender, Gibson and Steinberger, as well as a whole host of rare and incredible-sounding keyboard models made by Moog, Roland, Hammond, Korg, Ensonic and Yamaha. |

Adjoining the main live area is a good-sized stone room providing a great isolation space for those looking for a different sound. Adjacent to the stone room is the
building's original control room, which was converted into a programming and editing suite when the large extension was built.
The rest of the building is comprised of Fisher Lane's recreation room, which offers a chilled space for clients to unwind in. Located in front of the control room, it features a beautiful stone-brick fireplace and wooden ceiling beams, as well as a leisurely set of brown-leather furniture creating a warm and relaxing character. The room benefits from having Sky TV and internet access, as well as an adjoining kitchenette kitted-out with all the mod cons. |
