Livingston Studio 1 Introduction
The legendary Livingston Studio 1 is back with a bang. This famous North London recording studio has returned to the capital's recording elite after major refurbishment. Now run under a partnership between Miloco and leading UK producer and mix engineer Mike Crossey, the brand new era at Livingston 1, which will reaffirm it as one of the very best UK tracking rooms, is now underway.
Livingston 1's large control room and numerous live spaces have all been completely restored to bring this great facility back to its former glory. As well as a complete cosmetic makeover throughout, its equipment specification has been enhanced substantially with new additions including a 72 channel SSL SL4072 G series console, running Ultimation and Mike's own personal collection of outboard, microphones and backline. It all joins much of the equipment that has lived here for years to form a spec that is matched by few studios left in operation today. Recording can be done onto a brand new Pro Tools HDX rig with 48 ins and outs, or by using the incredible Clasp with a Studer A80 and 24 track or 16 track headblock.
Livingston 1 is of course renowned for its varied recording rooms including a main live area that can accommodate 16-piece string sections and a world class stone drum room with incredible acoustics. There are also two large booths and a separate amp room. Studio 1's clients have the sole use of a brand new rec room with Sky TV, Playstation, sound system and luxury sofas. There is also a communal rec room with pool table.
With a history spanning many decades that have welcomed artists such as The Clash, Buena Vista Social Club, Bjork, Billy Bragg, Depeche Mode, Erasure, The Jesus and Mary Chain, REM, Muse and Friendly Fires, we are very proud to be relaunching this historic studio.
