Osea Island's popularity with writers is owed to its secret and un-spoilt environment that serves as the ideal place to completely focus on creating music.

Any of the island's buildings can be used to write your next record. If you do not have the budget to use the main studio then the smaller buildings scattered around the island could be the ideal alternative. Readily available to hire are a number of cottages and apartments that you can set up in and use as a creative base for your writing project. There are eight traditional cottages, two beach houses and six modern apartments all of which provide plenty of space to setup small writing studios. These cottages and apartments vary in size, age and character. The older cottages, some of which date back to the eighteenth century, are filled with authentic features such as original beams, low ceilings, steep staircases and traditional fire places. These cottages are filled with a good mix of antique furniture, modern comforts such as Sky TV and a good stack of National Geographics. If you thrive off authentic environments then these warm and welcoming homes will be perfect for your project.

Based in a large Edwardian building are the Courtyard Apartments. These newly built apartments are more spacious than the cottages and are furnished beautifully. A lot of them benefit from large French windows and plenty of sunlight, and some have coastal views. The Courtyard Apartments are perfect for larger groups.

Neighbouring the Manor House and so slightly separated from the village are the two extremely popular beach houses. Both of them are a matter of yards from the beach and both have a large private garden to the rear.

If you want to completely separate your working environment from your accommodation then look into hiring the purpose built writing studio which is annexed to one of the cottages. You can also choose to hire one of the out-buildings to work in while staying in a cottage or apartment.

Finally, if you are a large publishing company looking to organise a writing camp then there is no location more perfect than Osea Island. It is capable of sleeping more than 100 people so can cater for all group sizes.
