Florence and the Machine

# A soaring breakthrough in 2009 for Florence and the Machine was assisted by extensive championing by media heavyweights such as the BBC and NME. Florence's 'soul inspired indie' has been one of the freshest and most exciting sounds of the latter part of the 2000s. Her debut album Lungs had the production expertise of James Ford and Paul Epworth, who worked with the band in The Garden and The Pool in 2008 and 2009. Alongside her band, The Machine, Florence has developed from being a darling of London's live-circuit, to one of the most exciting artists on the festival scene.

They went onto make a large impression on an international tour circuit following the album's release in early 2007. The band returned to the stereo speakers of garage punk fans in 2009 with their sophomore album, 'Primary Colours'.
