The Bunker was opened in 2010 after being custom built by Miloco Builds for producer Stephen Street. We were thrilled to both unveil another great programming room at our main company premises in London SE1, while of course welcoming Stephen into the building.

Part of what makes The Bunker so popular is its stylish and inventive design. It incorporates a fitted acoustic panels system that produces a fantastic sound for a room this size.

The spec on offer at The Bunker is quite special in comparison to other programming rooms you can find. It features plenty of the gear Stephen used during his time at Olympic Studios and before, which he used to produce many of his back catalogue of big-selling albums by the likes of Blur, Pete Doherty, Graham Coxon and Kaiser Chiefs.

The Audient Zen 16mPMF console sits beneath some Focal Twin6 Be and KRK VXT6 monitors and is surrounded by outboard, all of which is cased within a custom-built workstation. The selection of Dynamics include Empirical Labs Distressors, UREI 1178 and Audient Black Series ‘Black Comp’; EQs and Mic Pres consist of API 550As and 512cs, TL Audio Dual Valve and Audient Black Series ‘Black EQ’; and Reverb and Delays include models by Thermionic Culture, Yamaha, Lexicon and more. A Protools HD3 rig is loaded with a large choice of plug-ins by Bomb Factory, Digidesign, Massey, Trillium and Waves.

On the far side of the 13 sq m control room is a 4 sq m recording booth. You’ll love the choice of backline on offer: Roland, E-MU, Novation, Korg and AKAI keyboards, Fender and Gibson guitars plus a Vox amplifier are in amongst the selection. Microphones by Shure, Beyerdynamic and AKG offer plenty of recording options.

The finishing touches to the studio include a leather sofa, warm colour scheme and lighting, and many of Stephen’s personal touches such as photos captured throughout his career, not to mention an impressive collection of platinum disks to date. Also on site are kitchen and lounge facilities, a pool table, Sky TV, PS3, table football and a vast collection of vinyl for guests to enjoy, providing plenty for you to do on a time-out!
