What the rates include

• Days in the Motor Museum are 12 hour days. The 12 hours begin from when you wish to start.
• All the prices exclude VAT which is chargeable at 20%.
• The rates include an assistant (unless stated) but not an engineer. You can hire one of our engineers on top of the rate.
• All prices exclude tapes/materials, cabs and hire costs.
• The rates include the equipment shown on the equipment specification but as you can imagine the gear does break from time to time. If we cannot replace the gear we cannot offer a discount on the rate. Of course in the unlikely scenario that a major breakdown happens during the session (such as the console / tape machine) we shall discuss the time lost.
• Any equipment that is 'subject to availability' on the individual room specifications, needs to be requested prior to the session.
• And contrary to some rumours concocted by our competitors tea and coffee is free throughout the day and we may throw in the odd sweet or two if you are good.

Day Rate

This is the day rate of The Motor Museum. The day is a 12 hour day. A lockout day rate (upto 7am the following morning) can be arranged by calling the office prior to the commencement of the session.

Lockout Rate

The Lockout rate for The Motor Museum is another £ 100.00 on top of the day rate agreed. This will give you as many hours as you need up to 7am in the morning.

5 day Rate

We can offer the 5 day rate on all of our rooms for bookings under 5 days. This is a cheaper rate you can book the studio for, but we can only confirm the session 72 hours prior to the start of the session. This allows us to be flexible when a large 7 day booking comes in which needs the same time you may be holding for one day. In the event this occurs we will either offer you another room (which may sometimes be an upgrade) or we shall ask you to re-schedule or you can always pay the Book Rate. If the booking is over 5 consecutive days you can confirm the 5 day rate of the studio at any time.

Unsigned Rate (Flexi Rate)

If you are a band / artist and are unsigned we may be able to offer you our unsigned rate. Please note if you are Radiohead who may not technically need a record deal we do not consider you unsigned! The unsigned rate is only for bands that do not have professional representation and are not signed. 

If you hold studio time at the Unsigned Flexi rate and we receive an enquiry from a client who is prepared to pay and confirm at the full rate for the same dates you have held we will give you the option to match that rate. If you choose not to do this we will try to move you to another suitable studio if there is one available. If no other studios are available we will have to ask you to change your session dates. We will not confirm sessions at the Unsigned Flexi rate until 24 hours before the session and advise that clients do not book transport, hotels etc until your session is confirmed with us. 

If clients booking at the Unsigned Flexi rate bring their own engineer then the studio rate will include an assistant. Otherwise, for an additional charge to the studio rate you can choose to have one of our younger engineers without an assistant, or you can pay for one of our full-rate engineers who will also work without an assistant. 

These costs are all payable in advance of the session and valid credit card details will be needed at the time of confirming the session. This rate does not apply for filming or photo shoots.

Unsigned Rate (Book It Now)

The 'Book It Now' unsigned rate has exactly the same terms as the 'Flexi' unsigned rate as in you must be unsigned! However for an extra charge you can confirm your session in advance of the session dates. This charge varies between £75 or £100 depending on which studio you are booking. Once confirmed and paid for at the 'Book It Now' rate we will not move your session. These costs are payable when you book the studio and not 24 hours in advance of your session. 

As with the Unsigned Flexi rate we will require valid credit card details at the time of confirming the session. This rate does not apply for filming or photo shoots.
